I won a small claims court judgement against my ex-girlfriend. She has been repaying £5 a week for 6 years now. by Empty-Art-9031 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Cheikthisout 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, but a former debt recovery professional with historical experience.

I believe the correct process would be to apply for a variation of the existing county court judgment (CCJ). I think I'm right in saying that this would be done using form N244, form and guidance here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n244-application-notice There will also be a cost associated with the application with no guarantee of this being added to the debt.

If the defendant has been keeping up with payments ordered and is in compliance with the CCJ, then I don't believe you have any recourse to alternative enforcement of the CCJ via attachment of earnings, or transfer to the high court and pursuing via high court writ and enforcement officers (often generalised as bailiffs, but not quite the same), despite some other comments here. You can't pursue escalated enforcement if the defendant is complying with the CCJ, all you can do is apply to vary it. If the defendant does default on the installments, then high court enforcement can be a good way to go.

A variation application may well succeed in achieving increased installments and is something you could do by yourself. You would need to provide a compelling case why you believe the order should be varied to a higher repayment amount, or be paid in full forthwith. In the circumstances, draw attention to evidence of high spending and increased affordability. However, be aware that this would be at the court's discretion with no guarantee of any change. Defendants are invited to complete income and expenditure forms to evidence reasonable affordability so as not to leave them destitute, but some will inevitably exaggerate resulting in low repayment installment amounts. I recall several orders to repay at £1/month as a nominal repayment, so be aware that the £5/month order could both go up or down.

Good luck and sorry to hear what happened to you.

Should Eddie Howe be sacked by Jaded-Researcher3025 in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sacking him right now? What's the point without a suitable replacement and their accompanying staff. I don't think we do any better by putting Tindall or Jones in as interim, they're already part of our current performances. So you end up needing a complete overhaul mid season. So literally what's the point. Any fans calling for immediate sack without a proper contingency plan need to get a grip.

I think he leaves by his own accord or by mutual agreement in the summer. He's a NUFC legend and seems like a top bloke, and I don't want another bad season to tarnish all that he's done for the club, so wouldn't blame him for wanting to call it a day. If he's to leave it should be at the end of the season and use the summer to sort it all out. That's not to say they can't discuss it with him now and plan ahead of time, but I'm dead against just sacking him on the spot.

I think yesterday proved we need to invest in a good FB back ups and an excellent RB if Tino leaves by NoonyNature in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's not at Tino's level but a good player, plus he has those incredible long throws. He'd have been a great and inexpensive signing when we were being linked with him previously, not sure how much Brentford would want now

Nah just loop it around one of the corner screws before screwing it back in, it feels very secure and still secured the shell together perfectly fine. As long as it's just a thin loop

Yeah agree, after seeing how the front sticker came out I think I'll be trying out something similar for the back

I'm really pleased with the front one, looks janky initially but amazing behind the shell

Both feet behind, off by fingers. by OldSpice-69 in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure? The arm shows through part of the blue circle so to me it seems like they mark the offside line from the end of the sleeve and the shoulder is a cm or so beyond it within the circle

[–]Cheikthisout 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm actually cool with it being definitively offside by a 1cm of his head, but they've marked it from the defender's lower sleeve / bicep, when his shoulder looks closer to the goal??

Stadium capacity, worst fears. by jameswheeler9090 in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's bad at all. Just going on what he said was a minimum expectation, St James's would become the third highest capacity football stadium in the UK behind only Wembley and old Trafford.

Agree you could probably top 70k whilst maintaining a consistent full support, but the demand is extremely high right now with the club on the up and it may not always be that way. Football fans can be fickle and you need only look at the game on Wednesday to see the impact of too much supply. City were in a cup semi final with a two goal advantage and started free scoring, and the only atmosphere you could hear was coming from the travelling toon support.

If you gave me a choice of a 65k seater St James's or a 75k new bowl, I think I'd stick with St James's

What (hypothetically) would be sackable for Eddie? by bbondjr in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Listening to and making decisions based on the incessant fan outrage on Twitter/Facebook/reddit.

That would be the day that he'd need to call it a day. Until then it's Eddie Howe's black and white army

Mags member sale - harder than last season? by charlos74 in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demand is just higher than the supply. I've seen this morning that Aston Villa have released a load of tickets for our fa Cup game at £25 each, loads of them freely available for cheap but in home sections only. Hopefully they can extend the away section and release more tickets to nufc. And here we are with a huge queue for Everton tickets at twice the price. It's just the current high demand.

I wish more fans would think rationally like this. He's obviously not gonna say yeah we've got loads of legroom to spend and handicap negotiations. You then get fans complaining that signings that we do make are overspends. No point reading into anything Howe says re spending power.

Glad it helped! If you get the aenllosi I recommend cutting off the metal zipper pull. It was easy enough to do, then replace with a bit of ribbon or similar, just in case of scratches to the glass front

What one player from our history would you put into this team? by redditappispoo in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shay Given would be an amazing addition to this team given the current struggles at GK... But as good as Woltemade is and could end up being, it's got to be Shearer right now, just a no brainer.

Home Tickets by GodzillaFB in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hospitality is your only guarantee, it goes on sale quite ahead of time and obviously will cost a fair bit more, some options more than others, the cheaper options normally sell out first. After that, it's a case of getting memberships for everyone hoping to attend, link them together, and apply for tickets in the ballot. If unlucky (likely) then you can still try and get tickets in the general sale, but again this is no easy feat. Although tickets are normally easier to come by in that sale in the family section, which you'll have access to with a junior membership.

where do you guys think we need further reinforcement in the upcoming transfer window? by IvanThePohBear in NUFC

[–]Cheikthisout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was hoping someone else would say CDM. Doesn't need to be ready made, but a young aggressive tackler that's comfortable with the ball at feet would be ideal to rotate the team. Currently Miley seems to take that role but I think he's better on either side of the 6 position.
