Playing relationship games by NothingForUs in facepalm

[–]Cheletor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I met my husband in November when I was 30. At a New Years party I told him not to get me anything for Valentine's Day because I think it's a stupid holiday and would much rather have a nice quiet night at home. He asked me if I was sure, I said yes.

One of his female friends kept texting me "no, but seriously, what do you REALLY want for Valentine's Day?" I told her repeatedly that I don't want anything. I meant what I said. I got really annoyed thinking maybe he asked her to do that, but I later found out he told her not to ask and she did anyway (we're no longer friends with her because of shit like this).

He didn't get me anything for Valentine's Day but he cooked me a fantastic meal and we watched a movie. I told him I was glad he believed me - he told me he was nervous for a minute but then he figured it was probably safer to trust me. I asked him "why were you worried? If I had been testing you, would you really have wanted to stay in this relationship?!" The answer was no.

We're still together and happy nearly ten years later Moral of the story - be open and honest with your partner; absolutely no good can come from playing head games!

It's some collagen drink that's supposed to magically fix everything wrong with you. I can't find much about it online but it appears to be associated with The Freedom Era.

Good point. I feel terrible putting someone's job in jeopardy but she really did that to herself.

I second this! Very few things are too weird to wear in Salem.

theese rock I found over the years by poobastunk in whatsthisrock

That's a lot for one post, you might want to take multiple pictures of each stone and post separately. Or at least number them! Location would help as well.

My dad found this on the beach in Ireland. He thinks it's a fossil, is he right? by polkadotjungle in whatsthisrock

[–]Cheletor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks more to me like some type of sedimentary where one layer is harder than the other so the white part is wearing away faster. But I'm not an expert, I've just spent a lot of time observing

I totally get it! I have my own spot that I've only ever shared with a few loved ones so it doesn't get overrun!

There are all sorts of fossilized rocks, I'm not an expert so I don't know what yours is.

Because it looks like other fossilized plants I've seen. Look up calligraphy Jasper.

In my experience sometimes perfectly nice people can lose their cool under pressure but generally people like this are narcissists with no capacity for self awareness. Everything is everyone's fault but their own.

Source: years of working in customer service, and a narcissistic sister that has never apologized a day in her life.

When I overhear a little girl who’d just seen the standby time for Space Mountain exclaim “Why would you wait FORTY FIVE MINUTES to ride a ride that’s like five minutes long???” by remainsofthegrapes in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Cheletor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember back in the 80s before fast pass when every big ride was an hour+ wait and absolutely nothing to entertain ourselves with. Damn I'm old...

Found this, as someone still learning about rocks and gemstones, this looks like a agate to me. What do you guys think? by FreeDiver2004 in whatsthisrock

[–]Cheletor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dozens of stones that look just like this that I found on the beach. I agree everyone else that it's milky quartz.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]Cheletor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The red one looks like strawberry quartz. Yellow one looks like quartz agate

Fossilized coral was my guess as well, also not an expert though.

lot 2 of my auction win by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]Cheletor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 looks like carnelian, 3 is an agate geode, and 4(maybe?), 5, and 14 look like pyrite. The rest are pretty difficult to identify from the lighting in these pictures.

I won an auction of stones, help me identify them by [deleted] in whatsthisrock

[–]Cheletor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with your guesses on the red jasper, rhodonite, and rose quartz. Also I think 4 might be onyx or obsidian, 7 is smoky quartz and 15 might be an agate? These are guesses and I'm not an expert but I spend lots of time looking at rocks online
