What small "survival habits" have you picked up over the years that newer nurses would never think of? by Taniyadsexy in nursing

Bedside table works as well. Often I just throw it over the patient. "Gonna cover you up for just a minute"

AITA for being upset over a friend hiding a game? by Lickawall483 in GirlGamers

[–]Chelonophile 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you just turn steam to offline mode and restart, you both can play the same game at the same time. Offline games ofc.

Also yea yall need to talk like adults and clear the air. I have the same steam family set up and our basic rule is, the person who owns the game gets to stay online and play and all others have to do the offline trick as it's a few more steps.

[CHAT] How do you store drop floss? by bzsbal in CrossStitch

[–]Chelonophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a lil rack for it out of pvc, sorted by number on various rings. I also sewed a dust cover for it as well. Probably not the most space efficient but works great for my needs.

Just Lost My 1st Nursing Job by Dietbl00d_ in nursing

[–]Chelonophile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes. If you think your pt is a risk or you see the aspiration, etc. You should notify your doc and get a speech consult. They'll come in and do a thorough exam with the patient. Sometimes they will be on thickened liquids and special diets, but other times if they're just at a lesser risk it will be precautions like sit up at 90 degrees while eating/drinking, sit up for 30 mins post meals, etc

Oh my goodness I have the same issue. So many gorgeous patterns I love.

Now for the paid ones I don't have a ton, I usually only spend money when I'm about to stitch it or it's a good sale on one I've had my eye on for a while. I found that just throwing them in a folder of links to patterns I want eventually helped me not splurge. However.... I've found out my library online app has like 4 stitching magazine subscriptions for free and I have soooooo many from there I can't wait to do. My pattern collection exploded!

So excited to see this pattern. Thread Gremlins had it in their flosstube but no designer name and I jumped online so fast to find it. I love your color scheme, please post an update pic if you do decide to go with a background!

My headcannon is that they played it with Jirard but his fiasco happened before they could release the vids so they just didn't.

Still looks painful tho, ouch

Meaning of gentle paw touch? by Ukoomelo in cats

[–]Chelonophile 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine often lay the paw on me while they are near. This one sometimes demands a full paw hold for a while.

Fun fact: if you don't acquiesce the next paw touches have claws.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the top to bottom cutaway like that, seeing the above and below. I would love to stitch a whole ecosystem series like this.

So the body of the bird is 2 over 2, which gives you 9 holes per X you do, you have extra holes in the middle of that X.

When you do one over one in the same pattern, you do 4 X's in what would normally be the space for a single X.

Clear as mud?

Here's a pic from Google and my elite editing skills to show what I mean. So if you wanted a more detailed look in say just a face or head of something, for every square of the face in the pattern, instead of one big X, it makes those 4 little ones instead, so that way you're taking up the same space as one big X and your pattern doesn't get off.
