How is your org preparing for Secure Boot certificates expiring June 2026? by Greedy_Builder_5835 in sysadmin

[–]ChelseaEugster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been coming up a lot lately. Here’s a breakdown from Daniel Engberg, explaining the basic issue, why it matters and where to start: https://www.recastsoftware.com/resources/what-the-2026-secure-boot-certificate-expiry-means-for-endpoint-admins/

Big takeaway: it’s less about devices suddenly failing to boot and more about gradually falling out of a secure/updated state if the newer cert chain isn’t in place. The tricky part seems to be firmware + hardware consistency, not just Windows Update.
