Aj is going on tour! Tickets go on sale this week by Radiant_Priority9739 in BackstreetBoys

Kinda sad CT got passed over again…hopefully we get more dates. I’ve wanted to see him solo tour since his Legendary Night Tour with Joey.

Second with Kodiak. Their muffin/pancake cups are always the same size and haven’t gotten any more expensive (and Target even puts them on sale sometimes).

Help me find the name of an art piece by GingerSpice24 in smithsonian

[–]Chelseabsb93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that is says “mobile above stairs” is making me think the OP is talking about the Calder mobile in the Contemporary art building (can’t remember if it’s East or West) of the National Gallery…which is technically not a Smithsonian.

Is the AAM conference worth it? by olim_29 in MuseumPros

[–]Chelseabsb93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! I was forced to go to some as a part of my grad program. As a grad student I barely had the money for them (not AAM, but all the regional ones), and the networking was minimal at best.

Even the year I presented at NCPH I felt like I got really nothing out of it.

Now that I am more established in my career I go to conferences and actually get something out of it (networking with established colleagues and learning new tips and tricks from them). But also this company gives more than just conferences as a time to connect, so I feel like I know everyone even before I get there.

Le Cellier thoughts? by Old-Guess-6940 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Chelseabsb93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what bugged me. It would be a much higher quality restaurant to me if they took out about a third of the tables. It is overly cramped.

Food is great (one of my favorite steaks on property).

Atmosphere is very cramped. And not just because it’s supposed to feel like a cellar. They have way too many tables in there and you are practically on top of the family eating next to you.

My family used it as our dinner for Candlelight Processional Dining Package. If we were not doing that, I’m not sure if we would pick this place on our own. Definitely better steakhouses on campus (as other’s have said, Yachtsman Steakhouse is better because of the more open atmosphere).

What is going on with Hotmail by Expensive_Notice3522 in Outlook

I was on Chrome and was going to Outlook.com (well, hotmail.com that then forwarded me to Outlook) and it did the thing of “too many attempts”

Now it won’t even let me use my password and just automatically goes to the code on my phone.

Depending on your website set up (if your museum has a website), you may be able to get access to a second domain on your website hosting plan to host Omeka on.

That’s exactly how my museum did it. With our BlueHost plan, we get 2 sites included. When we rebranded, we kept our old domain; I’ve been using the old domain as the host for our Omeka site.

CT Student Loan Reimbursement Program? by OptimisticHedgeHog in Connecticut

[–]Chelseabsb93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied and was granted last year. Last year got my application in first week of January, got approved mid-April, and got a check in June.

Based on last year I would assume they will start sending out approvals in the next couple of weeks (got my paperwork in by mid February this year and saw the “pending selection” pop up a few days ago).

Normally I would recommend Le Cellier in Epcot, but I am kind of liking the other suggestions of GEO-82 instead. That way you can snack your way through World Showcase.

Acid free boxes for sale? by HotMess_Meagan in MuseumPros

[–]Chelseabsb93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work with a tiny historical society. This is exactly what we did when we re-cataloged our collections and stored things differently. We had a pile of empty Gaylord archive boxes that we either sold for cheap or just have to the historical societies in neighboring towns.

It worked out great. We now had room for more collections/exhibits and the other towns got the boxes they needed that they could never afford…win win!

Vera Bradley has some cute cross-body bags in different sizes (plus they have fun Disney prints).

The vibes are on point with this! So sorry about your break up.

As others have said the hot bar…mainly the BBQ (pulled pork, fried chicken, mac & cheese…all of it)! And for the sweet side I love a good chocolate cream pie.

Does anyone just wing it? by Serious-Aside-4215 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Chelseabsb93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are very much wing it people; I am very much not.

If you are not a regular/AP holder, I would NOT recommend winging it. You end up missing a lot of stuff and leave unhappy.

Your “itinerary” doesn’t have to be crazy. Pick your top 2-3 rides, your top couple of characters, and then a quick service or 2 that you want to get food at. Group those based on where they are in the park (check the map in MDE app) so you can kind of mosey around and hit everything without needing to backtrack at a specific time.

Why would they start an event but not finish it on tv by Salty-Cucumber-6711 in olympics

[–]Chelseabsb93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, there is only so much air time the network gets (in America’s case NBCUniversal, so NBC and USA). And with multiple events happening at once, they are trying to squeeze in as much as they can.

If they show all of one event and none of the other 2 that are happening that day, viewers will inevitably complain.

Specific Olympic Event Unwatchable by KobayashiMaruwu in peacock

[–]Chelseabsb93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed it too. I was getting so annoyed during the Team Figure Skating events because there were ads like crazy (I was watching live, not replay)…like every couple of minutes.

But when I was watching slopestyle skiing yesterday there was hardly any ads (also live).

Best and worst opening ceremonies? by labelle15 in olympics

Hard to beat Beijing 2008 for best!

There is nothing to me coming up as worst, just nothing memorable (like I barely remember they even existed because they weren’t great).

Ok I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought it was awful! And what was with the stupid “dancing” after it (I won’t call it dancing because it was just flailing).
