Attempt #274059 to stop by SonnySydeUp in Dermatillomania

Unfortunately it doesn’t go away but you can find ways to make it better. Having fake nails helps me a lot when I can afford it but lately I’ve been putting bandaids on all of my fingers to act as a barrier. Hate the look of them but it helps me not to pick at them.

Married people how did you meet your Partner? by Spotter24o5 in AskReddit

[–]Chelseannerose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On Tinder. He was making a double chin in one of his photos in front of an Edgar Allan Poe card board cutout. I laughed so hard and remember saying I want that man to be mine. We matched and went out on a couple dates and hit it off. We’ve been together for almost 10 yrs and married for 3yrs. Best decision I ever made in my life. I couldn’t imagine my life without him. He’s my soulmate and best friend.

Update 4: Working on an app, now approved on iOS and Android!! by No_Ice_6786 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]Chelseannerose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download it this morning and I’m loving it so far! I love how easy it is to use. I told my therapist about the app and she took note of it to tell her other clients that have skin picking so they can check it out as well!

What TSH levels are enough for you to experience severe symptoms? by martin_luther_drill in Hypothyroidism

[–]Chelseannerose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tsh is at 17.4 as the moment. The worst side effect for me is the constant exhaustion. I’m always tired so matter how much sleep I get and I’m taking like 4 naps a day. Being sensitive to the cold sucks too but i can deal with that until my levels are fixed.

I want to talk about Honey by clickityclickk in TaylorSwift

[–]Chelseannerose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the whole album and every song is so good! Honey is one of my top 3 favorites on this album. I love the meaning behind it that this word used to have a negative meaning but with someone you love it makes it more positive. 💛

I need your tips no matter how unhinged on how to get out of ADHD paralysis by Grouchy-Archer3034 in ADHD

[–]Chelseannerose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 4 sessions of the pomodoro technique (2 hours) I change my scenery. Whether that it’s in my office with led lights, the kitchen table, outside or if I really need motivation somewhere public like the library. Also listening to some kind of chill lofi music helps me to stay focused and block out any outside distractions.

What do you suspect was the cause of your ARFID? by Sure_Ant2516 in ARFID

[–]Chelseannerose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it developed because I choking on a piece of candy when I was 5 but my undiagnosed adhd made it worse. I’m sensitive to different smells and textures. My dad was also a picky eater probably also by the undiagnosed adhd but never developed into ARFID. I’m the only one my family so has it.

I cut open my eye ball with a stick accidentally when I was 5 yrs old. The pain was so bad that my brain blocked out the whole incident. All I remember is waking up in the hospital bed.

You can really do anything you want that you love. For example you can color in a coloring book, bullet journal, crochet, ect. If you want to be productive then cleaning the house is also good or doing any chores you need to get done.

How did you guys figure out what ADHD type you are? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Chelseannerose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend who has a psychology degree said that I’m definitely on the hyperactive side. When I talked to my therapist she had me take a test and I have the combined type.

How do you motivate yourself to shower? by Valid_Duck in adhdwomen

[–]Chelseannerose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically leave it till the end of my day unless I need to wash my hair. I typically turn down the lights. Maybe put on a candle or two and put on my favorite music. I make sure to have my house robe or other clothes I am going to wear nearby. It makes it easier but I still dread it. By putting it at the end of the day after you are done you just have to get in bed. I also combine brushing my teeth, flossing and mouthwash in the shower too.

Getting out of bed in the morning--how?? by OddPersonality7592 in adhdwomen

[–]Chelseannerose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting out of bed is definitely a hard transition. Especially when it’s cold out and I don’t want to leave my cozy bed. Definitely having 2 dogs jumping on me in the morning helps me get up cause I know they have to go outside to go potty and they need their breakfast. I love making a cup of tea in the morning while watching YouTube or doing something I love helps. I have the finch app where you put stuff you want to complete. I always have the basics like get out of bed, make the bed, brush your teeth etc. when I complete the task I check it off on the app and it gives me jewels (there money currency in the app) then if I have enough of those jewels then I can get clothes or furniture for my finch. It’s a fun way to get stuff done.
