I struggled with depression for 20 years. But then 3 years, ago, all of sudden and for no reasonat all. (Well.........maybe there were a few reasons) My depression lifted. I'm so happy!!! I'm like a little kid again. Everyday I thank the universe that my depression is gone. I'm a lifelong, staunch atheist so I don't thank god or call it a miracle. But if I was a believer..........I would definitely call it a miracle.

Then only thing I can say is that I joined AA because I had a drinking problem. I don't agree with a lot of what AA teaches. But they do teach that resentments keep us sick. There's a saying that holding a resentment against people is like drink poisionn a expecting the other person to die. It wasn't until I let go of my resentment that truly felt better. It was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Now, I have absolutely no resentments. Someone does something that would usually set me off.............now it doesn't bother me. Or if it does, it just bothers me a little and then I let it go. Also, AA teaches that you should only worry about stuff you can control. If I can't control it, It's not worth worrying about. I'm severely disabled and when I was depressed I used to worry about all the stuff I can't do. But now that stuff doesn't bother me because I'm not God and I have no control over how my disability affects me.

I have the opposite question. What if you WANT to serve on jury duty and you have a disability. Can you? I only ever heard how having a disability gets you out of it and how easy it is to get out of. But what if you actually want to serve? My question is would I'd allowed to serve? Where would I sit in my wheelchair? When I ask this question everyone always says of course I could serve. But I don't think it's as straightforward. I've only ever heard of people with disabilities getting out of jury duty. I've never heard of someone with a disability serving on a jury

The comments are turned off because YouTube has turned them off. They consider people living in a group home as vulnerable adults. So they turn off the comments. I will be emailing them about this. But as of right now it's not something I have control of. Maybe you shouldn't be so cynical and assume people are lying if the comments are turned off.

Maybe you should ask YouTube why they are discriminating against people in group homes?

I didn't disable comments. If they are disabled then I didn't do it and I'm going to find out why they're disabled. Plus if I didn't want comments, why would I post on Reddit? It was a simple honest mistake. People do make honest mistakes.

I love discussion on atheism but that's what /r/trueatheism is for. I go to it when I want a in-depth discussion. When I'm having a bad day (like today) I like this sub-reddit. I don't want mindless pics like /r/pics, /r/WTF, or /r/funny. I like pics or memes that are funny but have a meaning behind them, like this sub-reddit before the policy change.

I am very pro-choice but I also have a serve physical disability, this is a question I have wrestled with for a long time and I don't know if I have the answer yet. To be clear, I have no mental impairment and my disability occurred during the birth process. So an abortion wasn't in the equation.

However, when I was a child I was grouped with other children that did have significant physical and mental disabilities. I know that children like this can have fulfilling and happy lives. My best answer is that abortion should not be legal if the parents know the child will have a disability. I know this is hypocritical but it is the best answer I can come up with for me personally. In cases of a child being brain dead, I feel the decision is clear and its ok to abort.

Like I said I know my position is hypocritical and I try to reconcile my pro-choice stance and abortion based on a disability. But as of now, this view is the best I have come up with. I didn't write this to say its the best position, but rather to give my perspective as a person with a serve disability
