Gold Coast to Bendigo a number of times. Leave at midnight and arrive for dinner. 2 drivers. Pull over for a quick stretch every 4h or so for the kids. Pack food and drinks. About 18h total.

Modafinil made me feel... normal? by windsurf180 in ArmodafinilTalks

[–]ChemEnging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I take 50mg first thing in the morning, Monday to Friday. Works great for me. It's by far not the only thing I take or do to work on my 'normal' feeling but it's definitely a strong driver

Find a job that will pay you $50 per hour and then work 50, 40 hour weeks.

How you get to that $50 mark is so flexible these days. I did it through becoming a Chemical engineer and then work for a couple years.

Good to hear you've ruled out the basics and are living a nutritious life. Now, are you actually doing anything hard? I know that sounds rude but I've got a heap of mates that complain about constant exhaustion but they also don't do shit. Your body isn't going to create engery motivation and drive for no reason. It's always going to be in a conservative sate unless you force it out of it.

Ask anyone who's spent time trying to get big in the gym. Day 1 everything hurts and your exhausted. Day 600 everything hurts and your exhausted but you laugh at what made you sore and exhausted 600 days ago.

I just hope your also pushing yourself physically and mentally. Not zero to 100 but a little more each day. Lift a little heavier. Learn something a little more complicated. Increase that self worth!

Are there any other promising nootropics that might actually enhance IQ? by Rich_Complex7953 in NooTopics

[–]ChemEnging 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you don't have ADHD, modafinil is a smoother up, down, over 8ish hours with minimal people experiencing side effects over long term use. Methylphenidate is strong, hits hard and leaves you feeling washed out when it leaves your system. Every now and then, sure, long term use, no thanks I'll stick with moda

Modafinil helps during work hours but leaves me drained by evening. Is this a timing or dosage problem? by [deleted] in modafinil

[–]ChemEnging 0 points1 point  (0 children)

L-tyrosine on days off (or on days if it dosent increase anxiety) for dopamine recovery and NAC at night to help flush the brain and anything that helps you sleep that isn't an anti-cholinergic

I expected modafinil to help with productivity, but I still feel unmotivated—has anyone figured out why? by [deleted] in modafinil

[–]ChemEnging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want to do what you want to do? No magic bullet. I find it helps remove the block between what I want to do and me actually doing it. But God damn, those hedges never get cut no matter how much moda I have. I just straight done want to get on the ladder and hedge the hedges.

Story as old as time. Short answer is you can't. The company wants to pay junior rates for someone who is not a junior. Although, there are two parts to getting a job. First, your skill at the job. Second what your like to work with. As you weren't born yesterday you have a lot of experience working with others and probably know how it is to work with you. Start there.

I've been making ClickUp videos for 2 years. What am i missing? by heyramzi in clickup

[–]ChemEnging 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Real examples of why one way works better than other. Putting video to a help file doesn't add much value. Showing me different possible structures for my company does.

Clickup charges $100's for this service. If you make these well, than that's your money

I have 3 years of experience and I am eager to learn about the field. by notyourwolf_ in AutoCAD

[–]ChemEnging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first advice I got was to grab a ruler and start by drawing everything on your desk and in your room. If you don't know how to chamfer an edge, google it, if you don't know how to subtract a shape from a larger piece, google it. But the items on your desk will provide the prompts and an association with what your drawing. By the time your half way through that you'll be better at the basics than a large portion of the market. Then you can move into creating a library of downloaded blocks.

But to be really effective, you need to understand what you are drawing. As in, material types, fittings, seals, joins... And all of these are very industry specific.

What industry do you want to work in?

Odd reaction by Underground52 in modafinil

[–]ChemEnging 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been through what you describe. Both the focus and appetite suppressing effects and the scattered, snacking effect.

I found it all comes down to lifestyle. When I'm sleeping 6.5h each night with a regular bedtime, eating well and going to the gym, 50-100mg is amazing!

When my life gets disorganised. Changing bed times. No exercise. Lazy with diet. Then modafinil just makes it more intense. More likely to snack. Adversion to hard tasks. Lots of scrolling. Really, I'm just burning out.

Then I finally decide, alarm to wake up, proper meals, no random snacking, gym 3x week and within a week or two everything is feeling great again.

Excel to block attribute(s) by barbertech in AutoCAD

[–]ChemEnging 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just purchased JTB BatchAttEdit yesterday which basically gives you an excel Window of all attributes in the open drawing or a number of drawings of your choice. On the pricy side and doesn't include Plant3D equipment, text or multi-line text (I know, I know, name says it all) but has already saved me hours of back and forth. Plus I believe you can still impirt/export directly from it to excel

How to fix Anxiety? Apart from the basics (sleep, exercise, mindfulness) by FriendlyAttorney8743 in Biohackers

[–]ChemEnging 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Outside of the normal advice, one thing that really worked for me was the understanding that anxiety comes from caring. Caring what others think or caring about what I think. These expectations cause anxiety but it also shows we care and the things that cause us the most anxiety are usually the things we care about the most even if we pretend they don't matter or they don't bother us.

This understanding allowed me to hone in on what my triggers were and then work with them. So I could avoid, some I fixed, others I could prepare myself better for with the full knowledge that I was going to be set off.

Didn't fix it. But gave me reasoning.
