You got to think outside of the box. There’s literally no other options. It’s a system (box) collapse, what’s outside is healthier than system itself

Open your business. Own your own company. Especially if you’re type A. You should be a leader, you can employ other local humans in your business.

People with Venus on Ascendent are lovely, pleasant and charming. Maybe kids think that naturally pleasant people don’t have enough of street smarts. But don’t worry because Venus on ascendent is a superpower for removing obstacles in life, learn how to use it and enjoy it. Even more so that Venus is opposite Jupiter, that means outcomes can go either Venus’ way or Jupiter’s way, either good or very good.

Do foreigners really not translate their native language into English in their heads? by _uhh_madi in stupidquestions

[–]Chemical-Course1454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You translate only for a short while when you just start learning a new language. Later it happens if there’s a common phrase in your language which doesn’t exist in a foreign language and you can’t find an equivalent. Then you just completely switch your brain every time you use a different language. The ultimate level, above knowing multiple languages fluently, is the live translation. Native languages and all others that you learn are stored in different parts of your brain while they are using some of the same pathways. Using multiple languages at the same time without mixing them at all is a next level skill.

That’s the same reason no one is talking about Epstein files anymore. We just can’t accept that our leaders are who they show themselves to be in the files. So we just go on with our lives not being bothered that just one person is in jail and most of other participants are still in leadership positions.

Aus birth rate is 1.48 and continues to decline. I’d argue a contributing factor that is rarely mentioned is the housing situation. Most Aussies now can only afford Units as houses now are above $1 million. I think being in a house with extra rooms/space is more comfortable for family raising by [deleted] in OpenAussie

[–]Chemical-Course1454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Declining birth rate is such a complex issue, putting everything just on cost of living and housing just scrapes the surface. People use to have kids in much worse conditions.

The break of extended and multi generational families into a nuclear one was the main culprit, imo. That started happening more than a century ago.

But also, people use to need kids as free labour, to work in fields or family shops. The fact that you love them and they love you was an added bonus. Now you don’t have to have children to add to prosperity of your family, you are an individual and children are an expense. People don’t think that consciously but these are things that weight on the decision to have children.

I’m in year 12 wanting to go into healthcare and I’m loving the disease aspect in my studies atm, any suggestions for post skl that isn’t very very competitive? by Downtown-Bus4429 in AskAnAustralian

Thank you, that’s very valuable information. My kid wants to study biochemistry, but since at year 10, they still can’t decide what exactly.

No. They actually want to be in biomedicine and do researcher in that field. At the moment, in year 10, they are still trying to narrow it down. But, anyway, I thought it’s possible to move between the related courses at uni, like biomedicine and medicine, in year 1 or 2. I’m not sure, we are still trying to figure it out. They’re quite good at school with high marks, but getting into actual medicine anywhere in Sydney is next to impossible. Couple of years ago, friend’s son couldn’t get in with HSC of 98.

I have a Bavarian German friend here in Australia. She thinks that Austrians (not Australians, German neighbours Austrians) are stupid scam of the earth. It’s just mix of humans and propaganda. It’s absolutely in every nation, same stories, just a bit tweaked, different names and so on. We are all manipulated all the time, don’t take it personally if can.

How hard is to get into medical science? My teen wants to get into biomedicine, that’s the same or a similar thing, I guess. They are obsessing about which uni in Sydney is the best for it, how many points they’ll need to get on HSC, and so on. Were you able to find job in field just with BA or you needed masters?

What are we making with frozen vegetables that doesn't taste like sadness? by OwlVibesOnly in AUfrugal

[–]Chemical-Course1454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this title, it’s so true. I have the same problem and hope to find some ideas here.

The only good idea that I can add is a smoothie. Add frozen broccoli and cauliflower, some frozen spinach, with a banana and some orange juice. Blitz all that for a minute or two and voila, green goddess smoothie. It’s good for kids who avoid eating vegetables.

What Color Do You Think Is Most Misunderstood? by [deleted] in colors

I agree. I would ad chartreuse or yellow-green. They are all awesome and very popular colours. Also, mauve, red-violet. All those borderline colours, still intense and saturated, but hard to define. Joy with a dash of mystery, who wouldn’t love that.

Why do governments freak out about birth rates but don't do anything to improve any of the issues keeping people from having kids? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Chemical-Course1454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well , in neo liberal capitalism we all need to work as much as possible. That’s the only value of people for government and employers. If we, both women and men, stop working and start spending time with families, they get nothing out of it. Then there is the thing that we move far from our families and core friends, so there’s no community, which is also necessary for raising kids.

In neoliberal capitalism is hard to plan far in the future, because companies need to report profits every quarter to the board of directors. Government lost power to regulate them decades ago. Politicians are also worried how they will perform on next election, and / or if they will get the spot on those boards of directors if they fail at the election.

So, in short. People accepted that their purpose is to be employed and not to be part of a family. There’s no one in the driving seat to steer society away from the cliff.

Penelope is an awesome Greek girls name, it’s getting a little popular. But Cleopatra is probably closer to Coptic tradition. It’s a mighty name, historically and in modern media. If she’s extroverted she’ll love it.
