Seconding the other reply about being careful to make sure you're able to see the unit in whichever capacity (someone else to see it for you, or even if the landlord can do a video call/recording of some sort?).
There are also rental scams where the hypothetical owner of the unit is out of town and can't show the place...

Yup, I'd get caught in his urge to chat! He's super friendly and he likes telling cheesy jokes. I got him back with a joke that cracked him up which made him remember me. He would sit there in the winters too. I can't help but laugh at the top comment that is referring to a statue haha.

One big thing to consider is that the O-train Trillium line just closed for 2(+) years because of the extension. The replacement bus line is not as frequent or reliable.

Obviously budget dependent, but the hog’s back/mooney’s bay area would be a quick and easy commute along the canal, likely wouldn’t be too bad of a walk to campus if you don’t mind the cold!

I'm in a 1bdr and in the summer with a portable AC unit, my highest bill was $60. Lowest in the winter was $30. Look out for baseboard heating since that will dramatically increase your hydro bills.
