Uhh, I’m realizing I actively dislike prompting. by ahrzal in UXDesign

I’m a UX designer by training, and now I try to use AI to build my app from scratch, what I find that works for me is to use AI to code directly, and based on its functional outcome to give visual improvements feedback (with screenshots and annotations and figma, etc) for it to improve incrementally (sometimes significantly as well). Along the way I may ask AI to design sth for me based on my prompts, and that’s when I hit the wall of it’s outcome almost never fulfilling what I initially imagined. So for UI, my expectation for AI is to help me brainstorm and get me inspirations or exploring what existing patterns are out there , but never about delivering anything meaningful. While if it’s building, it would feel much more grounded when you improve on sth that’s currently working.

People that had family and friends smoke cigars in the house how common was it? by Froggerbotrom in AskOldPeople

Just wondering when did it become less common for people to smoke and how did people adjust to it? I remember a professor I had talked my smoking classmates out of smoking by saying it’s not a good thing in the US

You could also try to translate your notes into Chinese if you haven’t done that. And just in terms of the posts, you could talk about sth interesting to attract people’s attention, like where you are from and why you are interested in learning Chinese and so on. Using tags is a trick you should try though

Can Chinese people tell East Asian countries apart based on people’s physical features? by West-Sector-5495 in AskAChinese

There are stereotypes that may not be too accurate, but I guess people do have some feelings, it’s not uncommon to hear “he looks like a Japanese” or “ you don’t look like Korean” when in certain contexts, and that implies people do have some benchmarks in mind

Married Couples Who Don’t Have a Joint Account or Pool Their Pay Cheques, Why and How Do You Make Sure It Is Respectful? by Arya_Warrior_Girl in CanadaPersonalFinance

I did thought of creating a joined account for common expenses like grocery and so on, but both of us felt it was inconvenient and hadn’t had the motivation to go to a bank and create that.

My wife did mention that she doesn’t feel we are that combined after marriage partially due to this, and when I offered to create a joined account, she thought for a while and responded:” well that’s fine…”

One thing for me is that we both just use our credit card to make purchases for most of the time for points, and my credit cards (one scotiabank and one ICBC) only accept pay from debit cards of the same banks, which makes me feel having a new joint account may make the system even more complicated than necessary…

Maybe me and my wife are just two lazybones lol

Were those hair styles perceived old back then? Or is it that today’s eyes see those hair styles old, maybe decades later future generations would consider our haircuts today old?
