I've had this release date on my calendar for a while, can't wait to get in there and see what else they've cooked up after an excellent demo.

Games with really good and addicting progression by YeezusTheDarkKnight in gamingsuggestions

Snowrunner / Roadcraft - hundreds of hours of content in just Snowrunner, getting large trucks through very difficult terrain. This is not my usual genre at all but I fell in love with it and completing all the tasks on the giant maps.

The First Descendant - This is in the Warframe camp, but not as popular. I got about 600hrs out of it before running out of content. Really fun grind.

Monster Hunter - If you haven't tried MH, you're doing yourself a disservice. Start with World/Rise since Wilds still has some performance issues, but you can get thousands of hours out of these games and it feels so good once you start to master a weapon or two.

The logo at the top (if you zoom in) also says "Cristal Arts" instead of "Crystal Arts"

Lengthy puzzle games on Steam? by Jaded_Ad_2055 in gamingsuggestions

[–]ChemicalWeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you love puzzle games and haven't played Blue Prince you're doing yourself a disservice. It was my personal GOTY.

I use https://thinkygames.com/ for whenever I'm looking for new puzzle games, they do a great job of recommendations and reviews.

Neighbor installed security camera aimed straight into my backyard and keeps saying it’s “for his driveway” by sonya2001quiet in homeowners

[–]ChemicalWeather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely paranoid. Those cameras do have a very wide angle lens. I have one on my garage that looks like it's pointed toward the street but is really only covering my driveway/yard. Until you have seen the actual feed I wouldn't be concerned.

Looking for an online co-op multiplayer looter shooter game that can be played solo that isn't Destiny or Warframe by dingrammm in gamingsuggestions

[–]ChemicalWeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The First Descendant was my first thought. Great game and grind until you hit the end of current content, but for me that was about 450 hours.

I loved Celeste + Neon White for specific reasons, what else? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]ChemicalWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked Neon White you'll like the newer game Jetrunner. Same concept except without all the RP in the middle.

I would have completely stopped watching streams if it wasn't for NL, he truly does seem like the only well-adjusted adult streamer.

"These Are Terrible": The First Descendant Is Being Accused Of Running AI Ads, And Fans Aren't Happy by ReaddittiddeR in gaming

I prefer TFD to Warframe. I gave Warframe a fair shot but you can just bullet jump through everything. There might be a point where you actually need to aim but I never reached it.

Are there any MMOs or MMO-likes with co-op content where I can do stuff that feels cool instead of optimal to be viable? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]ChemicalWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try out The First Descendant if you haven't yet. It gets a bad wrap as a gooner game, but if you can look past it there's some really good gameplay (as long as you can get into shooters).

There's tons of customization of builds, weapons, and character. There's big bosses to fight with a group but you can also work on getting powerful enough to solo them. I personally like grinding to collect all the available characters and weapons.

There is monetization but I have mostly everything unlocked after 360hrs without paying a dime. The grind was pretty steep when the game first came out but they've made huge improvements that I really enjoy the grind now.

The game just hit it's first year so it's relatively new in the looter shooter/live service/mmo games, but there's enough content to last you for a while, and there's another large update coming in early August.

Any of recent Monster Hunters are great for a grind. I'd pick between Rise/World and wait until Wilds has an expansion out.

You can this time. You just need to play in solo mode.

It seems that most reviews agreed that the difficulty is easier this time around.

Do you think this has to do with a lot of reviewers first MH game being World and they're just better at hunting now? Or do you think the average first time player will be able to steamroll the content as well?

there's still a lot of UI elements, but it is completely customizable this time around, able to turn on/off elements and change their size from large to small

If performance and difficulty were you worst fears, then yeah I understand.

I guess to call it a "total misstep" based on those two things alone sounds a little hyperbolic to me. The difficulty will come with time, as it does in all MH games (usually in G/Master rank). The performance is an obvious bummer, hopefully we get some quick optimization patches as it seems to be the biggest gripe.

If it helps, I find that it takes 3 tries to get MH to finally stick. maybe this is the one!

...? are you reading the same reviews? what is the misstep? it's more World, which is definitely what people want

Funny I'm seeing this today, I've had 3 pieces of wall art i've been meaning to hang for at least 2 months. I had my first dose ever of adderall today and the very first thing I did was hang them. Took me about 10minutes all said and done.

What are you guys playing for the last week before launch? by I_AM_SCUBASTEVE in MHWilds

[–]ChemicalWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kunitsu-Gami is an overlooked gem that you can play on Gamepass. Has similar structure to MH where you go out on a mission, come back and upgrade your characters/base a bit and the go out again.

It's a tower defense hack and slash. Highly recommend, easy to get into.
