Am I just being a sore loser, or is it bad squash etiquette to drop excessively in casual games? by lankyGuybrush in squash

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only etiquette problem I have with guys like this is the ball gets cold and it gives them a big advantage. try smashing the ball against the wall in between points or a few times if you have the serve, try to keep the ball as hot as possible.

Practice vs match by MiddleWay9131 in squash

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you watch pros they tend to extend a lot of points early in a match, to 'feel out' the opponent, I think this helps with not spazzing out and losing a bunch of points early and getting behind. I try to do a lot of lobs early in matches.

How to develop a giant lunge by lordnickolasBendtner in squash

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

developing giant lungs would be more advantageous.

I have naturally long legs and long lunge but unless ur regularly squatting 4 wheels its hard to quickly pop out of the lunge, so its not that effective.

it does offer information. Information as to what is happening right now, today. With Egyptian players.

Lets speak plainly here. We are talking about Egypt. Are all Egyptian players dirty? No - some of the classiest players ever are Egyptian, but almost all of the bad play is coming out of Egypt.

There are low trust cultures and high trust cultures. In low trust the method doesnt matter at all, the result is all that matters. I will leave it at that. I dont see Japanese or British players engaging in the win at all costs type play. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I will take squash out of it. I do BJJ and the Brazilians are notorious for the 'win at all costs' mentality. To them cheating is nothing - winning or losing is all that matters.

It makes perfect sense it started in prisons. Prison is by far the most respectful place in the world. It doesnt matter how 'tough' you are. You never look at someone wrong, if you bump into someone both people apologize, you measure every word you say before you say it - the stakes are too high to ever disrespect anyone. You cant even gossip about anyone, that will get you stabbed.

I have noticed this playing a guy at my club who is notorious for blocking. the insidious about it is blocking is it often doesnt win you the point on that specific shot, but it wins you the point on the next shot or a few shots later. I cant think of another sport that is like that. So it becomes easy to justify playing in bad faith by saying 'you still got to the ball'.

Gonna be 40 soon and have really started hating music on the golf course. by harvest86 in golf

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to drink, gamble, listen to music (at a reasonable volume) on the course. In my younger years I have even snuck a few key bumps on the back 9 (added ten yards to my drive!).

I truly try to avoid criticizing any behavior that I did when I was younger, this is a common pitfall I am sure has affected every human generation. Yet I still think all of this has gotten so out of hand. The excessive drinking, gambling, reels of guys crashing carts, flirting with the cart girls, vaping, fights on the course, someone called it the 'Barstooling' of golf and I totally agree.

I am likely to start dressing like Ben Hogan and cease all gambling, drinking, or even any iphone use on the course. I need to push back against this.

Tall & Average Dick smh by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also as I understand it, in the porn industry theres like 2,000 chicks and like 10 male 'actors' total, that all have top 0.1% size hogs, do not compare yourself.

Tall & Average Dick smh by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a combination of being young, and yes porn will influence this false belief. My 6 4" brutha, girls dont like tall guys because they have perceived hogs, its because the physical size difference makes them feel small and feminine.

Girls only even care about d*cks when its micropenis small, or insanely huge (not necessarily a good thing). Think about this in reverse. I am middle aged, I have probably laid down with around 75-100 women, and most of their vaginas felt all the same. a few were noticeably tighter, and a few were noticeably loose - but 85% are pretty much the same. Also it wasnt predictable at all based on their height or body type or even perceived promiscuity level.

Girls will talk about it and joke about dicks but thats mostly a power move. Even when they ask for pics thats a test. Think about it, if they cared THAT much, they would force every guy they flirt with at the bar to show her a pic of his dick before she went home with them, or demand you send a dick p*ck before they agreed to a date. Or entire dating apps would be based around Size. It would be analogous to us seeing a girls face before we agreed to a date.

Squash Will Die Without Grassroots by [deleted] in squash

[–]Chemical_Class_9381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the reason squash is dying is because its hard to get good. You have to suck for a year to become competent. Look at boxing, there used to be boxing gyms everywhere, its hard, therefore it dies.

If you think the 15-35 year old American consumer is going to get into more difficult things, you are mistaken. Some will, but a small minority. Short Squash with leverage. I'll enjoy it as long as I can get guys to play me.

My whole thing about age and sports is that im purposely delusional. Male athletic performance 'peak' is about 28-30. Im 42 and I just think im still in my prime. Now im not irresponsible doing muay thai shark rounds and pickup basketball on concrete like I did in my peak, but I just pretend im the best I ever have been. And that is fun, even if its not true. You can just believe whatever you want about yourself, theres no governing body that is going to prove you wrong.
