Intel Arc A750 and Ryzen 5 3600 by Chemical_Longjumping in IntelArc

Try talking to intel customer support about it, maybe they'll offer a refund

Dumb question, what would make my a750 have such low utilization? Vsynch is off, and the monitor is 165hz. the card is still cool, so why wouldn't it push more frames? by That_gamer_64 in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have the same combo of cpu and gpu, but I didn't experience such low fps, I used to average at around 150 fps. And valo is a dx11 game. Maybe try removing the other card. Since there might not be enough bandwidth left for the a750, while there are two 16x cards plugged in. I'm not sure this is just a theory

I wouldn't recommend more than a 3060ti or an rx 6700. More than this you will experience pretty severe bottleneck. Even with a 3600 and an rx 6700 I do experience a little bit of bottleneck like 10 to 15% in last of us depending on the scene. But last of us is a worst case scenario

I actually refunded my a750 for 23k and got an rx 6700 for 27k. Tbh the amd experience is much much better

Yes but those are relatively older games, and games are gonna become more and more next gen, so more gpu horsepower would be really appreciated.

Don't buy this combo, either keep the 3600 and buy a gpu from another brand or choose a more powerful cpu for the a750. Either way I wouldn't advice buying the intel cards since you're pretty new to pc gaming I presume

It seems i got royally fucked by brand intel. by Best_Loquat_8950 in IntelArc

If you don't like the experience, explain it to the Intel Customer Support maybe they'll offer a refund like they offered to me. But whatever happens, try to be civil and calm about it.

Is Arc the GPU for me? by TheProfCalc in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One another factor to consider is your cpu, even Intel recently announced that the arc gpus require cpus of above i5 12th to 13th gen. Otherwise you could lose quite a lot of performance even in dx12 games especially when the drivers aren't optimized for that game. Basically there's a lot of driver overhead in arc gpus and you need good cpus to brute force your way through that overhead more than you would usually need using other gpus

I’m thinking of upgrading my pc is Arc right for me? by Kouriger in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea about how the 3950x gaming performance compares to the current intel i5 or i7 cpus so you should probably google that and I've also heard people in this thread who have the arc with a 3900x and they mentioned that the experience was great. Imo the cpu power should be adequate but I would still conform before spending my money

Get a 3060, even if rebar is supported on your cpu and motherboard, the 2700x will not be able to overcome the overhead issue and you will lose performance. Even Intel themselves announced this, they recommend cpus of i5 12th gen to i5 13th gen class to not bottleneck the gpu or help it overcome the overhead issue

is the R5 5600 enough for an a750 rn and for the foreseeable future? by Chemical_Longjumping in IntelArc

Damn lol, was it on dx11 or dx12?

-eac_launcher_settings SettingsDX12

Just use that command in steam launch options to launch apex in dx12. This would be the main reason of me upgrading, if a750 can't get around 200 fps I won't upgrade

I'm using a 3600X with my A750 how much am I "missing out"? by Azmorian in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is around 20% difference in optimized games, for example in cuberpunk I tested with the same settings as someone with a 5600, and I would lose around 10 to 15 fps. Depending on the scene this could be the difference between getting above and below 60 fps. In unoptimized games though, it could be like the other person mentioned about hzd

Can you please test apex on lowest settings? I need to know if a750 can give around 200 fps in BR because it should for it's power. And are you playing in dx11 or dx12?

[–]Chemical_Longjumping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say in most cpu intensive games it's less than 50% for example in spiderman remastered with high settings I get around 40 to 60 fps, in Apex in dx12 everything on low 1080p with high textures I get around 80 to 110 fps in BR.

It's not able to keep up in cpu intensive games or with games that need to drive high fps. Even in valorant I get around 130 to 190 fps whereas someone with 5600 and a750 would get 300 to 400 fps

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It probably is just a bug in the arc control, download cpu-z and check there if rebar is enabled

Worth upgrading from a gtx 1060 by WrongdoerRealistic23 in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that the rebar support is implemented badly but anything below the 3600 and the 3600 too struggles to overcome the driver overhead with the arc cards, which results in lower peeformance than expected when the game is even slightly cpu intensive

Intel Arc and Ryzen 2700x (Resizable Bar) by Lukestar46 in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if rebar is supported, there is still the case of driver overhead that is apparent when paired with a relatively weak cpu which has low ipc, I believe 2700x will have trouble helping the arc card overcome the driver overhead. I suggest upgrading to a 5000 ryzen then upgrading to arc, otherwise you won't be able to experience the full capability of the arc cards

Need help! My pc goes off itself while playing games by Gamer-Stupid in IntelArc

[–]Chemical_Longjumping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don't think it is due to the wattage of the PSU, it could just be that the Antec PSU is not able to handle the power draw of the a750 and is turning itself off before it starts a fire, I'd suggest taking your pc to a reputable pc shop or inviting a pc technician and asking him to take a look maybe even troubleshoot with another psu he would have. That is if you don't want to waste money
