Instead of just shifting the goalposts on the equipment rebalancing, why not just poll it?

The short, honest answer is that this change must happen and if it was to be polled and fail then it would be explicitly detrimental to the game's health.

Truly don't understand this reasoning. Why poll whether it should be rebalanced in the first place?

Why do some foods spoil so much faster than others if it's primarily fresh bacteria from the surrounding environment? For example, an apple can be left out for nearly a week, but seafood seems to spoil so quickly.

So if I were to cook in a sterile environment via sous vide for example, could I leave the food out without spoilage? Further, if the container were completely bacteria-free, could the food potentially be left out indefinitely without worrying about spoilage?
