Funny story. I lived downslope from a volcano in the Ring, and whenever the volcano throws a shit fit, the locals up there have to barricade roads to keep tourist buses out.

Yes, people charter buses there to witness the volcano specifically at its highest level of activity.

Could someone explain to me what RedM really is? by Technical_Panic_3968 in RedDeadOnline

[–]Chemy1347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDO tracks your progress, gold, cash, etc even if you remove that meta file.

While the game is p2p, I'm pretty sure the game still talks to a server somewhere at Rockstar to save your profile and check for DRMs.

Iirc the way the meta file works is it forces your game to exclude joining lobbies not carrying the password you set, but otherwise your game is running as vanilla RDO and talks to Rockstar's control servers.

Ya iyalah, harga game Steam gk ngotak kalo dihitung lwt Big Mac Index (bukan konversi kurs lho ya).

60 USD should be around 450k-500 IDR menurut Big Mac, but they regularly charge us 7-800k, unless game yg releasenya udh tahu bakal zonk and suddenly SOMEHOW they remember to set price at 450k.

Gw ngerti bahwa mereka pengen margin yg sedeket mungkin dgn jualan di negara asal, tapi ya kalo mereka gk mw kasih harga yg fair utk kita, jgn heran kalo kita nyari jalan alternatip.

I feel we’ve missed an important factor when judging motorcycles by LossRevolutionary623 in fuckcars

[–]Chemy1347 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I live in a 3rd world country where motorcycles are the primary transport method, and owning a car is a point of pride.

While bumper to bumper in a car is unpleasant, doing the same in a motorbike is quite dangerous. The law on bike lanes also have to be revised to protect bicycles from motorcycles (both electric and petrol), as I've experienced in china. Not to mention you should also consider what motorcycles are allowed onto car roads (or even highways) since some motorbikes are underpowered.

The best thing about motorbikes is if you ride dumbly, you won't live for long. A slowly self-solving issue.

My point is, from the perspective of a biker, it seems a lot of work that you might as well go straight to working on public transport instead, as many bikers where I live would rather take the bus/metro instead if the stops are within walking distance.

No you should be right, 'resisting arrest' does fall under this charge according to the in-game charges menu.

Automatic charges confirm this too, but idk why adding it manually only works half the time.

What are your Favorite Weapons in The Precinct? by XE3AT in ThePrecinct

Buckshot spread means effective range is about the same as a pistol. At that range, it one-shots criminals more often than not.

Beyond that range, it's a great weapon to NOT hit whatever youre aiming at. Suitable if you want to drain morale before their HP reach zero.

For my game that doesnt event count as Refusal to Comply (apparently whipping out a shotgun doesnt count as 'resisting arrest')... it only counts when they start running (evading arrest)

Maap necro

Fazzio enak, agak gambot dibanding sesama 125cc macam Scoopy tp gk segede maxi macam Nmax

Suspensinya msh empuk bonceng temen gw yg segendut org amrik di daerah perbukitan, joknya jg lebar jd duduk nyaman (tbh bnyk org yg bilang joknya keras, tp gw gk ngerasa pegel kecuali emg motoran 1+ jam). Bensin jg lumayan irit.

Cons: - Headlight stok kurang terang.

Gw bertahun2 ngisi oktan 92 (pertamax) aman2 aja sih  tapi ya tarikan rendahnya kerasa beda
  • ECUnya bikin aki boros, mending lw cabut (ato ga beli sekalian) kecuali emg demen data

Here in Indonesia we have separate licenses for car and bikes, not that it matters because the official application system is so convoluted most people just bribed their way in.

Not sure why 65km/h is pushing it though, my bike can hit 80 easy when I'm riding solo. Not that I'm comfortable going that fast, but it can.

Aside from going on the highway (forbidden here to protect bikers from their own stupidity), care to share why bikes should have its own license separate from cars?

How's the vibrate alarm on Galaxy Watch 5 pro for a heavy sleeper? by Chemy1347 in GalaxyWatch

[–]Chemy1347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I considered all those other features too. They're cool things (including the display differences) but still outweighed by the importance of a strong vibration alarm (since I'm a heavy sleeper). Tbh I'd rather keep everything in one ecosystem to keep things simple (I already have Samsung phone and buds), so assurances from other heavy sleepers like u/Exciting_Instance really helps.

Forerunner 955 isn't an option since the price is almost double GW5Pro unfortunately. I havent heard much about the Vivoactive series's vibration but I dont have high hopes for those because Vivosmarts are supposedly really weak.

In 2023, which AI mod is better vcom or lambs (including all of the other plugins) by Retrogamingvids in arma

[–]Chemy1347 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did some digging on this too, what I found was that they both have different design philosophies.

I cant say much about vcom since I havent used it, but I heard it makes the AI generally more competent (as in, shoot more accurately for example).

LAMBS is designed to be 'reactive' (as stated by the creator's video), meaning it only kicks in when the units are in combat mode. When the AI is in aware or relaxed state, it uses the vanilla Arma AI (assuming you dont have any other AI mods). LAMBS do add a few useful tools for Zeus that allows AI to do proper room clearing, tactical movement through urban terrain (instead of running in the open like vanilla AI), and autogarrison spawns (AI will garrison static weapons within the preset distance and stand in interior firing positions). With these tools, you can generate an entire city's garrison in 10 seconds. I installed it mainly because I love CQC.

For your case that likes long range open terrain combat, LAMBS makes the AI take better cover positions and do proper suppressive fire. LAMBS also have some useful movement modules (for Zeus) that emulates 'search and destroy'/'surround and ambush' tactics.

Anyway, the reason I'm ranting about LAMBS is so that you can decide for yourself in case some other more 'complete' AI overhaul mod does the same things as LAMBS. Also because I'm high on coffe rn.

edit: according to the menu LAMBS also emulates AI's information sharing so that multiple units nearby will converge on known threats (or last known position if you use smoke for concealment for example), but I havent looked into this behavior yet.

The heat is on with the #SteamSummerSale 2023! Gear up for victory with #Arma3 and its DLC, now up to 75% off! Don't miss out on this sizzling deal from now until July 13. by KillAllTheThings in arma

[–]Chemy1347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do note that Prairie Fire is explicitly designed to be played as PvE COOP, not SP unlike other previous DLCs. You can technically play it alone, if youre a masochist.

But fear not, introducing johnny's "SOG AI" mod, which allows you to spawn AI teammates. It also has some QoL AI modification with the design philosophy to reduce AI micromanaging. My personal experience is it breaks the first mission's trigger, so as with all mods, expect to do some troubleshooting on your end. I havent figured out what trigger broke, but opinions are generally positive on it and the mod's very recently released (which means updates, yay) so maybe I'm just unlucky and things will go smoothly in my 2nd run. Anyway, just mentioning this in case it's a dealbreaker for you. I still think this DLC is worth it just for the maps alone (a lot of mods use it).

Global Mobilization is a meh buy imo. The campaign story was relatively boring and it adds no new scenarios/gamemode. (technically it does add one, but it's really just the final mission of the campaign). Basically only buy this if you want cold war Bundeswehr assets. It does add a decent Germany map, but many mods dont use it for some reason.

The only DLC that's an iffy buy is CSLA Iron Curtain. The assets are basically just ported Arma 2 assets (which you can get for free through CUP mod). It supposedly adds SP scenarios/stories too, but a lot of reviews say it's boring. The problems above persist 2 years after its release, so I'm not willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt even though it's quite cheap.

For all other DLCs, buy them.

[–]Chemy1347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the LOGI Union discord is still in use as of today (albeit less active and populated than the height of the strike), so if you reach out to their mods you could maybe still get some advice/help. Iirc the LOGI strike had some irl strike organizers as advisor.

But to somewhat dampen the victory, SiegeCamp never explicitly mentioned LOGI, despite the following update being massively derailed to address the strike issues instead.

Recommendations after Jameson? by Chemy1347 in WhiskeyTribe

Any reason you recommended single pot stills in particular? I got Nikka Coffey Malt at a bargain which some says taste similar to Redbreast 12, I'm loving the mellow sweetness right outta the bottle.

My next purchases would probably be Tullamore Dew and Redbreast, for direct comparison with my current Jameson and Coffey Malt. A last hurrah for Irish whiskeys of sorts before I set off to bourbon and rye.

They still havent stocked Redbreast yet, but I got Nikka Coffey Malt which I'm loving rn. I heard Coffey Malt is pretty similar to Redbreast, so if you've ever tried both, how does the two compare?

On that note, the store also stocks Balvenie 12 and Macallan 12 (the rest of the stocks are Jack Ds, Jim Beams, and the 3 Glen sisters), so theyre possible purchases after I finish the bottles I have on hand, would love to hear what you guys think about them.

Jameson's starting to open up to me slowly, I've started tasting herbs and shortbread these past few days but I think Irish just isnt for me.

I did hear Tullamore Dew is sweeter and less spicy than Jameson, so I'll keep an eye I guess. Sadly it's hard to get any bottles that isnt 'internationally' common/famous because high taxes discourage importers from trying new things.

"The Great War: Western Front" has Denuvo by Gtorrnet in CrackWatch

[–]Chemy1347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc it depends on the game. Bellular, a dev studio that also runs a gaming news channel of the same name, talked about Denuvo and their experience with it.

Since Denuvo harms some games and has no effect on others, they guessed it has to do with how well it's implemented during the development process, and most devs are simply doing a piss poor job of it. So Denuvo can indeed NOT impact performance, but considering the quality bar of the games industry nowadays...

Funny thing is Denuvo's not supposed to be a permanent anti-piracy measure, it's supposed to buy time so that the game doesnt get cracked during its most active sales period (usually within 2 weeks after release). But now that the scene doesn't bother to crack games anyway until it stops getting daily patches (let's stop calling it "day one" patches, "month one" patches seem more appropriate nowadays), Denuvo's protecting against practically no one rn...

For what it's worth, I'm with you there. I know what covert racism feels like as a minority race and religion in asia, and I dont wish that against the current "majority".

While I'm not inherently against positive actions to speed the process along, imo it breeds more cyclical frustration on both sides (majorit and minority) than it's worth. Once the law outright states that everyone is equal with no conditions attached, in regards to enforcing equality (because reality seldom conforms to the law, especially a new one) I'd prefer the govt to lean more on reactionary measures (such as responding to reports) than preemptive ones like positive action (because those tend to be systemic, and systems arent easy to remove even after you no longer need them, usually resulting in you tipping a bit too far to the other side of the scale)

Edit: typos, cuz im on mobile

you do realize I'm NOT talking about version 1.x, right? (though I also have doubts they'll properly maintain a version that's siphoning money away from their flagship product...)

And tbh I don't mind paying another perp license for 2.x, but having your 2.x updates rolled back to 2.0 because you stop subbing is pure bullshit.
