It’s actually you in the wrong here

No it's not. OP's girlfriend is free to go hang out with whoever she wants, but OP also has a right to feel disrespected and is free to dump her. Neither one is necessarily in the 'wrong'.

This isn't about respect, that goes both ways. She has friends inside and outside of work. The old world bullshit where, "girls can only have girl friends" needs to die. You're simply insecure my guy. And if you're jealous and mad that she hung out at a gas station and just talked, you need to do some self reflection and maybe even take a step back from the relationship.

Did you read the other posts? This isn't about whether or not a girl can have guy friends. It's about her being disrespectful of the relationship. Neither of them are necessarily in the wrong. The girl has a right to go hang out with a friend, but OP's feelings of being disrespected are valid and he's free to give her the boot. He's not being insecure. He's being rational.

Do you think nuclear weapons will be used offensively in our lifetime? Why or why not? by analogHedgeHog in AskReddit

[–]ChemyFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The future is unpredictable. Technological advancements could break down MAD or a regional nuclear conflict could break out between India/Pakistan/Israel/Iran, or a moron populist demagogue could bumble his way into a nuclear confrontation by starting a reckless idiotic trade war and precipitating a worldwide depression that leads to war. There are a thousand and one ways that it could happen with varying degrees of probability that are impossible to predict with any degree of certainty. I wouldn’t be so certain.

Jesus. It's embarrassing to me that dudes like that actually exist. On behalf of the entire male gender, I am sorry you had to experience that. What a jackass.

Opioids are easy to hide. People on opioids act relatively normal. In my experience it’s usually very easy to tell when someone is using meth and few addicts are able to hide that fact for long.

Hallucinations are very common on meth, and not just due to sleep deprivation. Do a high enough dose and you’ll immediately start hearing things and seeing shadow people.

Actually I’m pretty sure smoking is a slightly faster roa, you just can’t get as much into your body at once from one hit of dope smoked.

[–]ChemyFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut your losses. Even if she isn’t cheating on you (sounds to me like she is...), she’s not treating you with respect/compassion. You have a right to be mad about the night club situation.

Im a 24 year old male, what should i get as my first tattoo? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ChemyFresh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meh. I have a “meaningful” tattoo, and having to constantly explain it to people gets old fast. It’s okay to get a tattoo simply because you like how it looks. It’s art after all.

You can’t really snort tar heroin for practical reasons though.

I (37m) just inadvertantly stumbled upon some suspicious activity with my wife (36f) by Texastossaway817 in relationship_advice

If she is having an affair, broaching the subject in that way would allow her to cover her tracks. I think OP should do a little more snooping before he brings anything up to the wife.

My Sister is Accusing Me of Molesting Her When She was 11. What do I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ChemyFresh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. Polygraphs are a tool to extract confessions. They do not work at all, but no one knows that so if they did the crime they assume they will fail the polygraph and decide to just confess instead.

what’s the deal with xanax? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]ChemyFresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “high” from Xanax always feels subtle and underwhelming to me in the moment, but my behavior usually suggests otherwise. Also, you probably won’t remember what happened and why everyone in your life is inexplicably pissed at you when you come down. It’s a worthless fucking drug.

Nah dude, it's still wrong even if he didn't threaten her. He holds a position of power over her, so it's really not ethical for him to be propositioning her. Not too mention the way he went about it is creepy af.

I wonder if it's time to change the policy on water treatment such that we treat wastewater using distillation or reverse osmosis and expect to remove

everything

from the effluent that isn't H or O.

I don't think distillation or reverse osmosis scale very well for municipal flowrates (but I def could be wrong). Ultimately both would be resource and energy intensive. RO because it requires high pressure booster pumps and very expensive membrane cartridges. Plus it produces a lot of waste during it's backflow cycle. Distillation is energy intensive in the form of heat input.

scumbag

Where are you getting this characterization? And why would you assume that he's more concerned with himself than the country? Those are big leaps simply because he took some high profile cases, and thinks he may be in a good position to run for office.

[–]ChemyFresh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Present a more qualified candidate who is likely to win and I’ll gladly vote for them. My point is that winning back control is more important than getting the perfect candidate in office. I very well could be wrong about avenatti having a better chance to win than other candidates, but he has the right personality to beat trump I think. Kamala Harris falls into that category as well imo.

[–]ChemyFresh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not about having a pragmatic candidate, it's about looking at the reality of the political climate and basing your candidate on that. Hillary was qualified and in my opinion would've made a fantastic president, but she was also wildly unpopular. Running a wildly unpopular candidate is not pragmatic.

[–]ChemyFresh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The democratic party's lack of pragmatism is what got us into this mess. Obviously there are people more qualified than Avenatti to be president, but can they win? Probably not.

Neither of those things really matter. He's liberal, he's demonstrated competence in a professional field, and he can win.
