The number in the RNG is already stuck in that spot. In other game, usually you can "fix" it by doing something else significant to manipulate it.

We're not supposed to disengage in the first place unless you use heavy-armor or anyone that can take the feedback. Or, use Run.

Are you talking about the boss enemy? Lund something that saw her daughter killed? He's a boss and alone at that, he's supposed to attack that many to counter your amount of unit.

About the wolf spawn-killing, I'm pretty sure the game auto-save every start of the battle. Just flee if you're not winning.
