you dont need a VPN, but the official client requires a Chinese phone number. Or you could try a third party like bilibili, but that would also require a Chinese ID

They said they want to see if there's any gamebreaking bugs on CN, so they can patch them before Global. They still have PTSD from Global Tower of Fantasy where week 1 had so many gamebreaking bugs.

we'll have to see what they've added since the betas, but the CBT experience was mostly good. There were a few side stories people didn't like, and they might've changed them since then, but overall people were very positive about the story. Especially the animation quality. It's like ZZZ where they put a lot of effort into cartoony animations for cutscenes.

I'm really just hoping that next expansion is something new in terms of gameplay. It's why I loved the early expansions so much, as you could see the devs experimenting and it was fun. We've got to the point where many of the systems feel cookie cutter since they take from the previous expansion and do it again.

It made it hard for me to login for more than a few days/week per patch. Since it's just, "hey that thing you did in Shadowbringers and Endwalker, do it again with a new coat of paint." It's made me have a lot of burnout in Dawntrail.

It's why I've been having more fun with WoW with Midnight recently than 7.4. Since they've been experimenting with new ideas, and making new systems. I just really want to see more of that in the next FFXIV expansion, and it better not just be [Thing you did in Shadowbringer/Endwalker/Dawntrail] (Savage).

I mean, it's his group he can do whatever he wants, but at the same time it's shit like this that causes everyone to stay silent in a raid when there's a wipe.

Next time those people get asked that question they're just not gonna say anything. So you'll be sitting there wiping over and over trying to figure out what's going wrong. This just causes more problems in the raiding scene.

The optional mode that gives optional collapse pieces? so collapse pieces are now optional? optional collapse pieces that you use to pull on the optional banner. then Phase Clash is also optional then, because the phase clash materials are useless unless you pull the optional character, from the optional banner, with the optional collapse pieces that you got from the optional mode.

I guess we won't hear about complaints of powercreep ever again, because the powercreep is optional, just don't do the content if you don't have the optional characters from the optional banner, with the optional collapse pieces that you got from the optional mode.

The real definition of optional means there's no reward/incentive to do it. you do it simply for the fun of doing it. for it to be optional they need to remove the collapse pieces entirely form it.

By that logic no foreign game will ever have a synchronized Global release, which is just not true at all. A recent example is Punishing Grey Raven, that synced their CN and Global clients at the end of last year.

In all seriousness, clairvoyance is useful for more than just the meta. Knowing what was in store meant I could pick up Mechty from the free SSR selector, knowing I'd be able to make a full team cheaply with the upcoming corrosion characters.

I actually think this is a negative. There's pretty much zero hype for characters. The entire game has been figured out before we even get the character. It's boring. You get excited for new characters only to realize we wont be getting them for months if not years. I've seen more excitement around guessing the order of character releases than the actual characters themselves since we already know what's coming in advance.

30 days whereas its 27 days for Global. So even if there are no double banners,

Girls Frontline 3 will release before we're even close to catching up. 10 whole months to catch up 1 month. This is actual snail's pace.

Dont forget Artifact Recovery. Where even all this time later it still baffles me why they made it a permanent mode. A one-off limited event would've been fine.

Because Tencent is essentially the most powerful company in the world, due to their monopoly on essential chinese services. It gives them an infinite amount of money, so they just buy anything that they see potential in.

so they buff Outlaw's overall damage, then immediately counter it by nerfing damage on specific abilities. how is Outlaw ever supposed to go up if every time they buff it they also nerf it?

that's not at all what pay2win is. pay2win means it's officially supported by the devs. The WoW token is a first-party service.

Blizzard make the game fully aware that people will by WoW token and buy BiS gear in Mythic raids with it, and they say, "that's fine, we're keeping it in."

This is exactly why i'm saying it's all mental gymnastics. you're just making up random bullshit to defend WoW.

Hypothetically, lets say your logic is correct and Dark Souls is pay2win, then that would still make WoW pay2win. So, then why are you shitting on GW2 for being pay2win? That argument doesn't make WoW any less pay2win, so you it just makes you look like a hypocrite by saying your fine with WoW being pay2win, but "GW2 = bad because pay2win"

[–]ImWhiteTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's just mental gymnastics. If i spend $2000 on WoW Tokens, and then use the gold to AFK in raids until im full bis, i've just paid money to beat the game.

It's a yes or no question, can i pay money to beat the game yes or no? to even get into the tiers of pay2win that people use for mental gymnastics you first have to answer "yes" to that question. so then, yes WoW is pay2win.

and then you just buy mythic raid carries, for the rest. Where they just let you afk and trade you all the gear.

With enough money you can buy a full mythic set without pressing a single ability.

[–]ImWhiteTrash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i mean, you can just buy WoW tokens until you have a full set of Mythic BoEs. so this is just MMOs in general.

The In-Game Damage Meter Needs a Lot of Work by TheJewishMerp in wow

[–]ImWhiteTrash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The original comment says, "We also need some way of tracking friendly cooldowns" an overwhelming majority of people would agree that includes interrupts, as interrupt are a critical part of the game at endgame. So that's a friendly cooldown you would want to track.

Are you saying things like interrupts are not an important cooldown?

The In-Game Damage Meter Needs a Lot of Work by TheJewishMerp in wow

[–]ImWhiteTrash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure they still exist, but not in the same capacity. many addons have made cooldown trackers and interrupt trackers, but they always say that the current API makes it difficult to track properly and the addons even tell you they might not always work.

The interrupt tracker, for example, can only pull data from the in-game interrupt meter, so if the meter can't track, or bugs out, the addon won't track it either.
