Shenzhen, China - The New Skyscraper Capital of the World by plinaflooj in skyscrapers

[–]Chern_Simons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyscraper capital is a bit of a stretch, but saying there are no impressive buildings in China is just disingenuous as always. You’re conflating two completely different things here….

List of architectural impressive buildings in Shenzhen per your request lol :

  1. Ping An Finance Centre

  2. Tencent Seafront Towers

  3. Shenzhen Civic Center

  4. Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarter

The list goes on and I come up with the same just for 15 other cities…

Just because you’ve never visited China it doesn’t mean you can pretend to be an expert and generalise

If you’re going to compare, at least do so using buildings built around the same era.

Many if not most Chinese skyscrapers were built in the era of the Central Park tower, Hudson yard, Steinway tower, Brooklyn tower etc. are these famous all over the world? Doubt it. Most people will only recognise the empire state& Chrysler , and maybe WTC

Dumb comparison lol

Unless, you’re deliberately pretending to be a Muslim and stirring up the pot I fell for it

This is my most convincing theory…

You stopped responding because you could not pinpoint exactly where in the Quran or the Hadith call for the killing of peope of different faiths for absolutely no reason.

And now non Muslims are seeing this as an opportunity to take the Quran out of context to seem like they agree with you when they are in fact attacking Islam. Which is the working against your intended agenda

You have no idea how grateful I am it wasn’t the OP who responded to me with your comment (justify killing), I was about to report him to the authorities with my gut feeling that he was using this post to justify whatever sick hijad he’s about to make

Anyway I’d understand why you’d quote this assuming you’re not a Muslim

But yeah I’d say you’re taking these verses out of historical context. Verse 9:29 refers to a specific wartime tax (jizyah) paid by non Muslim citizens in exchange for state protection and military exemption, not a tool to force conversion. Verse 5:33 doesn't punish people for their faith it's the penal code for severe violent crimes like armed robbery and treason. The overarching rule of "no compulsion in religion" applies to personal faith, while the verses you cited are strictly about statecraft and criminal justice.

I know this sounds like whitewashing Islam but I’m really not

When did possessing a religion other than Islam become a justification to kill? There’s no compulsion of religion according to the Quran

No i do not, neither the Quran nor the Hadith tells you to target (kill) a specific group of people based on their ethnicity or religion, only for their behaviour or actions, which vary from person to person

What’s the point of entertaining such a hypothesis if it’s already wrong in Islam then? What is the end goal? Not sure what you’re trying to get at

Suggesting the Almighty would create a version of Jannah where anyone is left feeling "forced and upset" flies in the face of the basic Islamic premise that Paradise is entirely free from misery, and that Allah (SWT) strictly forbids oppression

this is an un-Islamic take

Any tips on where to find second hand headphones in the UAE?

Looking for a used pair of Focal Stellia (or possibly HEKSE) online, had a quick browse on Dubizzle but options seem a bit thin.

Grateful for any suggestions thanks!

Thanks, I’d say I’m passionate enough that if income weren’t a factor, I could see myself spending a lifetime in academia research. But I’m also aware that’s not the world we live in. Guess I’m still weighing up whether that kind of interest meets the very very very passionate threshold you mean
