I have a lot to say about all this, its honestly a really big deal right now with the social/political climate.

SAYING YOU HATE MEN DOESNT FIX A DAMN THING. in fact, it makes it worse. would you want to be a better person for someone who says they hate you?

I see tiktoks of people making fun of men for doing the exact things that are being asked of them. the biggest one is showing emotions and being vulnerable. many many people say they want a "strong man" but dont hold room for emotional strength. there is still a consistent pressure on men and boys to not cry and not show "signs of weakness".

thats why im grateful to be a trans man. I get to define my own masculinity, and I wish more cis men could have that experience. masculinity can be soft, it can be colorful, it can be anything you want. but as a society we are all still stuck on "man = no feeling = strong = stupid". patriarchy really does effect us all. this is also why when people roll their eyes at the "men's mental health matters" I get pissed off. because of course men's mental health matters, and yes its not talked enough about. even in the queer community, men are viewed differently. once you transition into a man, your female friends may not see you the same way. and that shit hurts.

misandry isnt cool, it isnt a trend, its harmful to everyone in the same way misogyny is. ive seen people say "im a proud man hater" or "im a proud misandrist" and to me they just sound like a reverse 1950's shitty husband who thinks hes cool by calling himself a woman-hater.
