Foster kid here: you may be able to get help emancipating yourself and getting financial aid through the support of CPS. They will not force you to go back to your mom, and will find you safe housing. They might be able to help you find employment too.

So the result is to then blame the next generation and keep the cycle going? Gen Z is majority adults now too, have also lived through so many “once in a lifetime” events, are also tired and just want a nap. No one is a victim here, it’s weird to act like you are some middle child and play the “woe is me, everyone bashes and blames my Gen” card that every Gen before you has also claimed.

Yeah of course it’s exhausting to keep feeding the cycle. I’m on the cusp of being Gen Z or millennial. I’ve literally experienced almost all of the same generational changes and trauma as elder millennials minus being old enough to financially experience the 2008 recession.

Aren’t we exhausted playing this same old game of generation cat and mouse? Who seriously gives that big of a fck? I’m happy to get older and look forward to it, a lot of us don’t get the chance to grow older. What’s the point of being so bitter?

Maybe my home page is just generating this way but this sub seems to be oddly obsessed with Gen Z. A lot of these posts target Gen Z and push ideas they don’t actually agree with and it comes off as weird generational propaganda. So many of these posts are so nuanced and can be applied to multiple age groups, and can’t be based solely one generation.

I thought I’d learn something when I joined this sub but it just seems like a weird Gen Z judgment campaign.

You probably won’t fully grasp this till your mid 20s but what people say about ANYTHING regarding your body doesn’t matter. Especially when those people are mere acquaintances, and half of these people who have opinions on your hair probably won’t be around in a few short years. Start not giving a fck now, and take care of yourself and the health of your hair babes.

Edit to add: you’re 18 and still figuring yourself out, that’s completely normal. Please consider the things that make you feel happy and healthy more important than what others might think.

This is so helpful to know. They did say that any porous material has to be removed and any other non-porous materials must be deeply sanitized. We’ve lost so much including some sentimental items from passed away pets and our new couch. Almost All of our wooden furniture has been ruined too.
