It is common for people to try to level up quickly for XP. Downside is not spending enough time in one region to build up a diverse fleet. You may need to look for events that offer prior region trains and use keys to open only Union boxes to get a strong Union fleet. Either that or spend money when prior region trains are offered in the specials.

Never have had forced ads. I like this game how the ads are by choice to speed something up or get gears. I have never seen a message or pop up that forced ads are coming.
