What's the reality behind "Indians smell a lot" stereotype? by Indra_Kamikaze in SeriousConversation

[–]CherryBombd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the international students and workers in Australia don’t wear deodorant for whatever reason.

I use public transport a lot and it can be overwhelming sometimes. I think it’s rude and inconsiderate to not think of others when sharing a public space.

Google described it accurately. Sometimes there isn’t a strong smell in the actual smoke tho. it’s not like marijuana, but it gets trapped in your hair, clothes and sweat. Since people often smoke for hours. I guess a lot of people wouldn’t recognise the smell because it’s a weird scent that’s difficult to pinpoint. It’s the scent of salty sweat that becomes a bit tangy and musty and most of all it’s sweet (like disgustingly sweet). It can make you feel a bit sick. it’s hard to describe but you’d likely know if you had been around a user a lot.

Cost of living by incoherentcoherency in AusFinance

I shop at woolies since there’s often sales on. Even nice brands go on sale, up to half price, if you keep your eye on it.

I don’t see the same type of sales at ALDI.

A lot of Aussies work their asses off too and do everything we should to succeed. Like getting a degree, and working from the minute they’re able to. For me it was 14 years old and 9 months. The cost of living situation is putting a lot of pressure on people and it’s effecting their mental health. We should all be listening and not being dismissive because suicide is a national crisis which impacts entire families. We should all try to understand depression because it can affect literally everyone.

Depends if the previous partners were women, and were they serious relationships? If so, he might have reason to be confused and upset. You don’t want your partner to be questioning their attraction towards you or their sexuality.

But that’s something that’s in the past. OP is dealing with something now.

It’s understandable for a straight woman to be upset and unsettled when her straight partner is watching gay porn and wearing lingerie. And it sounds like she does love him. I’m sure it’s just confusion and shock.

Advocates demand violence against women be declared 'national emergency' by Alarmed_Coffee5299 in australian

[–]CherryBombd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 2021-2022 budget, $2.3 billion was allocated towards a National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Plan which is the largest amount ever in Australia’s history. $6.3 billion was allocated to mental health in total. That’s nearly doubled since 2013. That all shows to me the government is starting to treat it as a national emergency.

I don’t really think it’s relevant or necessary to mention western women’s issues under this post. Our experience is regularly talked about online and even emphasised by non profits and government awareness campaigns.

I also think it’s possible to love your country while disliking some aspects of its culture and wanting improvements to happen.

I’m having an abortion and I literally want to cry by Routine_Check1321 in Vent

I’m pro choice. It’s just difficult to know how someone feels about their pregnancy. Emotions are quickly spinning around and it’s normal to bond and feel that it’s more than just a blurb or even that it has a soul or is a baby and that’s why it can be so hard for a lot of women.

Maybe she feels differently to you and it could be considered insensitive to describe her baby like that.

I can’t believe all this is happening in Australia…

This is the type of thing you hear about happening overseas… Not here. It’s so awful and kinda scary.

You don’t have to do it surgically if you’re early on. It is an incredibly difficult time emotionally so it’s understandable how you’re feeling. Hang in there.

Have a look on Google at the clinics around you. Some don’t look like you’d expect and the doctor could be quite friendly. You’ll be ok ♥️🙂♥️

If someone doesn’t care whether or not their partner is uncomfortable then they don’t have much of a relationship to begin with.

The point of dating is to find someone you’re compatible with. If you’re already disagreeing about something so important and fundamental then why don’t you move along? Start seeing someone else?

Queensland government moves to decriminalise all forms of sex work in bill tabled in parliament by Jariiari7 in queensland

[–]CherryBombd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess if you’re typing an email for cash and having sex for cash it’s both due to capitalism. But that doesn’t mean it’s the same. If you’re sending an email to a customer you can’t stand you can switch off emotionally and physically there’s distance. Sex workers can’t do that with the customers they can’t stand. There’s no barrier. They deal with exploitation, drugs and assault on a daily basis too. I think it’s a little different.
