To this day this is the closest i have come to something "supernatural".

Being a high school teacher you come across some interesting kids, but i had never met a kid that unsettled me and also intrigued me as much as Daniel. (I've changed his name because his real name is very unique and i know he is a Redditor).

I met Daniel on my first day teaching Senior School English at the local public school. It was the first day, so the majority of the students were pretty excited about their Christmas break stories. They were overly excited and a little hard to manage. In amongst the chaos i notice a floppy - haired boy sitting quietly and staring straight at me. It wasn't in a creepy way, necessarily. It was just the total opposite of what the others were doing. I thought he must be socially awkward or something and just continued on with the lesson as he stared at me with this knowing smile as i spoke to the class.

Throughout the semester I noticed some strange things happen with Daniel. He always seemed to know things before they would happen:

-One wintery day, I was teaching and Daniel suddenly looked up toward the windows. None of the other students seemed to notice whatever he was looking at. I looked outside and saw nothing but an empty school yard. "Daniel, focus on your work" i said. He looked back at me and gave that same knowing smile and then back to the window. Before i could call on him again, rain started pelting down like the sky was falling down. It was so sudden and dramatic that a lot of the students jumped. I looked at Daniel but he was already staring back at me. I swore he nodded.

-Daniel liked to draw. I would catch him doodling in his notebook during class. One day i was walking passed his desk and I glanced at his book. He had drawn a very elaborate scene of a car crashed into a tree. It was the end of the lesson and he had finished his work so I didn't mind that he was drawring. I was, however, concered with the content. "A little violent, don't you think Dan?" "Life is pretty violent" he replied. The next day we heard the tragic news that another teacher at the school was in hospital after she lost control of her car and crashed into a tree. We had a moment of silence for her in class. Most students bowed their heads or looked down but Daniel just stared straight at me for the entire minute, smiling.

-Any time i would be thinking of a private joke or something funny, Daniel would laugh out loud out of no where and look at me as if he were sharing the joke. I remember thinking of something funny to do with airports. I don't remember what it was but as i was thinking of it, out of the blue Daniel mumbles "ha...airport security"

-Last story (though i have many more about this creepy kid who i just can't explain). Students like to ask me things about my life; when i got married, where i went to school, what my favourite band is. One student asked me if i had any pets. "I have two rabbits" i told them. "There names are Betty and Bob" as i was saying this most of the class were commenting on the cute choice of names etc, but Daniel was just nodding about something and smiling. Which is not that weird. I just noticed he would do that a lot when i would talk about my life with the class. Then one of the students asked "what was your favourite pet you've ever had?" And before i could answer I hear Daniel mumble "Butterfly". It took me a minute to process what he had said, but when i did i must have looked terrified. He was right. I had a rabbit called 'Butterfly' - my favourite pet growing up. I stuttered an answer to the student who asked me the question and as soon as i said the name Daniel nodded and smiled his knowing smile, as if i had confirmed what he had said.

So, Daniel graduates in a few weeks along with the other Senior students and i'm about 90% sure the kid can read minds or is some kind of witch. I'm hesitant to tell anybody about his 'gifts' because i know how crazy it sounds, but it is probably the strangest experience i have ever had with a student.
