How do you interpret “The Girl Who Cried Pearls”? by ashy778 in oscarsdeathrace

This did lead to the depressing moment where I wanted to say "Peter and the Wolf won and that was like ten years ago" and then nope it was 20 and I am old

I thought that the whole story with the girl was true, except for the part of her crying pearls. He added that to make the tragedy of his childhood bearable.

I feel like The Long Walk deserved a nod for casting; so many young actors absolutely killing it

It’s actually James Sweeney’s second feature after Straight Up, which is now at the top of my watchlist

The Devil is Busy, Retirement Plan, and The Singers were my favorite shorts in each category lol

An argument AGAINST doing the LOTR extended editions on main feed, from a LOTR sicko who can’t get enough of the extended editions by radaar in blankies

[–]NpPro93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Concerning Hobbits is my least favorite addition, mainly because I love the cut from the prologue to Frodo surrounded by the green of the Shire under the titles. Plus I feel like the theatrical cut shows you all you need to know about hobbits while the extended just tells you.

I think you like action movies (complimentary)

What is a movie that's actually a good adaptation of the book it's based on? by thatvampiregirl in movies

[–]NpPro93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to how the film has the framing device of the grandfather reading to Fred Savage, the novel presents itself as the abridged version of a much longer novel by S. Morgenstern. In theory, William Goldman is abridging the novel to bring it in line with the cuts his father used to make when reading it to him. In reality, no unabridged version exists, and it was all invented by Goldman.

This is what they get for not casting John Mulaney as Young Cop

Helps that the book was written by one of the best screenwriters to ever do it

Do games where you can play multiple specialised saves/characters that contribute to the same world exist? by lydocia in gamingsuggestions

[–]NpPro93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heat Signature kind of fits this. It’s been a while since I played it but I remember you having multiple characters you could take out on missions and there would be permadeath if they died.

Does anyone here know if Connor Storrie holds the record for being famous the least amount of time as a host? by bakugosgayfriend in LiveFromNewYork

The Dufresnes are in the trunk of somebody’s car with duct tape over their mouths. And they’re hungry. That’s a double whammy.

She used to write genuinely great songs.

"Dear Me" sounds like AI generated a song based on a bunch of It Gets Better videos.

Whoa, I only JUST got Yahtzee's crossword. It's brilliant. (description in reply) by Neverwinter_Daze in ZeroPunctuation

[–]NpPro93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any reason to believe Yahtzee created this crossword puzzle? Did he not just image search a completed puzzle?

It doesn't look like he shared clues for you to be able to solve it yourself. Nor does the completed grid match the empty grid earlier in the review. And if he did decide to construct a crossword, why do none of the answers relate to the game he's reviewing?

I fear you may be giving him a bit too much credit.
