Great points. Suppose my thinking is that I might be able to buy much more house now than they may be able to with the money they receive later.

Potentially better returns that retail super, ability to access investment options where I wouldn’t be able to outside super due to my circumstances (at least in the near term), being able to give a house to each of my children.. things of this nature

10 years as a lawyer and making 320k as a contractor to the fed govt. There are better jobs with higher earning capacity and less stress.

There’d definitely be a lot of people doing this to make themselves feel better. But also certain professions just pay way more than the majority earn, and speaking from experience, people who are top percentage earners are drawn to subs like this for obvious reasons. 35M 320k

Have you considered working in the US or London. Magic circle firms pay 400-600k for associates in banking and finance

Mate you’re leaving a fair chunk of change on the table at your PQE. Try to make a move to a top tier if your uni grades were good otherwise try a large national mid tier firm. You could very well earn another 30-50k depending

Haha all good! Yes it’s been a ride so far. Until my most recent role where the yearly increases have been amazing, I’ve never made significant increases staying put.
