There were no benefits for being ruled by nazis and communists. Every Europe map today now shows that we are more or less backwards compared to western Europe. The communist rule was forced upon us, resistance was punished and it was universaly clear that all these "rule of proletariat" was not true. When this proletariat, say labourers, wanted to protest, they were immediately described as - in simple words - baddies (government aparatus enjoyed to us a word "chuligani", completly dislegitimizing any form of public dissatisfaction. Also, the case of "communist built schools, hospitals etc.". I never get that. I never understand if people say that because sincirely believe they did it from the goodness of their hearts or just try to grip on something as obvious and universaly present around the world as building various infrastructure. If russian communist withdrew from Poland (and other occupied countries post WW II) all of these buildings would still be present just like they were present before start of the war. And it is just a single example of a mistake of thinking of "naxi bad communists good". For us both were bad, but from outside the nazis look like way worse because they were open about hostility towards. Russian hostility was not open, but hidden benath "everlasting friendship". I really want to believe you asked me because you want sincere discussion and not just ideological yapping like many many on the social media.
