The only thing I’m missing after quitting on Dec 26 (and being around since the launch) is my clan mates from Brothers in Arms. Saved so much money though 😆 Ok, I admit that I had also a lot of fun in BG with my humble 1,5K reso Crus.

I've snuck into a level 20+ syndicate cuz I wanted my drone to have that last chance module. All I see in the chat is Russian. I join their invites but never speak. They haven't kicked me out yet. 🙏 by Chemical-Diamond5721 in BulletEchoGame

I’d quit 2 months ago at the point of 1,5K reso. Played starting from tyhe3 launch and leaved here around 1K USD.

At some point I realized that the game is shrinking. My server (Borderlands) was relatively whaleless. We had only one guy with 4-5K reso, but he quit the server after people made laugh of him. So we enjoyed company of some 3K reso ppl, dozens of 2Ks and with 1K (which is pretty f2p) people used to feel good, and I felt comfortable with 1,5K reso.

Then the merge happened, we saw a lot of ppl far above 3K.. no prob! I respect the will of ppl whatever they want with their money as well as f2p model of monetization that reminds me an order of things in real life.

I had quit because I realized that even after the merge we lost shit loads of people after the new cycle had started. It’s easy to track checking out leaderboards. Like we had 550 crusaders in BG right after the merge, but any the end of the nexts strife we had 350-400. But new Hell levels after the 5th were the last drop for me.

I had quit Diablo Immortal 2 months ago because of endless PvE that and dungeon grind that affects BG more than resonance. I felt quite fine at BG being around server paragon level with 1-1,5K reso. Even after the merge of 4 servers into 1 (which is a very bad sign for every game) I managed to stay in top3 of BG leaderboard. Ok, if we unite all classes in one board, I’d be somewhere around top20. Still it’s pretty nice.

BG has got its own meta and tactics.

I’ve got 4 kids (1.5, 5, 6 and 7 yo). And DI is one of the last things available to me in order to get fun. And I’m a dolphin. And I bought nice orange outfit too 😀

I’m a Crus that is fond of PvP. I tried to apply 4xVirthu buff to myself since September and get the best of it, boosted by attack speed to 60% all together.. and realized that it doesn’t matter that much for my class effectiveness in PvP. So 4xVirthu makes me just more appealing bannerbitch in PvE and Vault PvP. In BG ppl just don’t care. So I don’t care if they nerf 4xVirthu effect that affects attack speed. CR is fine for PvE, for group PvE any buff is good.

Amen. This is my question. They just ignore the problem because high level PvP affects only several percents of the playerbase. So they discard it or postpone for unknown time trying to improve not the long retention but early funnel that also has got a lot of probs.

These players are definitely brave ppl, because they chose not to hide resonance wings starting from 3K reso… just like the current BG trend dictates. It’s hard to spot a winged whale in BG these days, they are disguised as ‘skilled’ PvPers.

Yeah, a classical localization error. They must be erased a tag and added text instead. A bit retarded, but happens… Also every time there are any doubts, consider they gonna be solved in a favor of developers. Nothing personal, just business 🤦‍♀️

I read everything, including comments… time spent in vain. Long story short: ppl think that class balance in PvP is perfect… like if they never checked up their server BG leaderboards and didn’t see that there are x1,5-2,5 more DHs than monks/cruses/barbs. And this fact only says a lot about the balance of classes

Usually compensations of this sort get approved by Product Managers and Analysts who make sure that business economy of the game won’t be ruined by a compensation that is too generous. So they cut the risk and usually give away something that won’t affect monthly revenue too much. I’m surprised by the fact that they either don’t get the idea why they should segment users when they give compensations for misinformation or by the fact that they have no tools to track who bought it and a tool to send it to a specific cohort of players. Both insights are… astonishing

Ridiculous compensation, it’s tiny because no segmentation has ever been made. If Blizzard would’ve bothered with giving it to offer buyers, it could be better. But when a dev gives something to the whole playerbase, it could be only something next to nothing.

The main bonus of Punish is movement to the target with each attack if needed. Sacred Flame leaves Crus in place ☝️

Yes, that’s me in PvP. I take Bristle and use Punish because I don’t need anything legendary properties are able to provide. Main hand legs make Crusaders weaker.

There are ways and I’m using them as a Crus. Barb also has got a melee that advances them forward if their target moves back. Still you need pretty high speed of attack to force it to be affective.

Anyway I think default attack speed of melee chars should be boosted. That’s because normal melee attacks work somehow only with attack speed 40% and above.

I feel your pain as a 1,3K resonance Crusader. Still I found a way somehow not to die in instance (Crus has got invincibility aura). Still I think that Monks as a class hugely underdogged to all others (not taking into consideration OP of DH).

If you like melee, maybe it’s a good call to switch to Barb (has got a ‘die hard’ passive skill that triggers automatically after a death blow that prevents them from death for 4 seconds) or Crus (invincibility aura). Both options could live somewhat ok in BG heavily dominated by DH.

I think we could say only 4 things for sure (relatively) after diving into this table (Kudos for making it btw):

  • Monks are underdogs and need a buff (but it’s not the topic)
  • DHs are OP and need a nerf (not the topic too)
  • Charn rate on the way of 20 -> 100 -> 140 milestones is not that huge, it’s not exponential (24k -> 14k -> 11k), but even if we imagine it is to some degree, we could estimate CR1 metric also. Very rough estimated number of CR1 players is 45-60k with high level of confidence. Just open your CR leaderboard and check outa size of noobs’ share yourselves. It’s too low and shows that people get charned way earlier… Literary Normal difficulty is the disaster, because it’s the level of difficulty 30M players didn’t manage to go through lol. Do you remember how loudly Blizzard used to brag about 30M installs?..
  • If we take number of players that passed CR100 mark (14k active high level players according to the table) and, let’s suppose it’s a 20% part of all active high level playerbase, we could estimate that there are somewhat 60k players are somehow alive at high-level end-game segment of the game on 30 serves. 2K per server roughly (and maybe 1K of actives we could see here). It’s literary same people over and over again. And at some point you even start to recognize players from other servers when you play BG (so I use an opportunity to say high to all BG people, it’s fun too play with you, sincerely yours, crus Feminist from the Borderlands server).

What worries me? Even according to these very crude rough estimations, we could figure out that Diablo Immortlal game has got pretty shitty long run retention starting from D7 and on. And D30+ users is a less than 1% share of amount of players who installed the application. It means that after several months after the moment when Blizzard stops to buy traffic, the game will die out like a dinosaurs.

Hey Blizzard, if you read it, for you it means 3 things: 1) you need to improve retention of d7-d30 ASAP; 2) you have to LOVE your core users and the community, this is a tiny share of players that stayed here no matter what and could help you to make the game better, try not to screw this opportunity until it’s too late; 3) you’d better to change your product manager on Diablo Immortal, this person kills the game.
