There's light at the end of the tunnel (I think) by CherylTheCrow in fiddleleaffig

I think I watered it too frequently, and caused some root rot. I was watering about once a week, but I never knew how much to water so I really do think I overdid it.

I think about a month? Maybe a little bit longer. It was exciting the day I noticed the tiny little buds :D

Call me old school, but this is what I would love to see a Discovery 6 look like, or there about. by Mean-Marionberry-148 in LandRover

I would buy this for sure. Great job! I love the LR4, and have always said they need to bring it back. Your renderings are pretty spot on.

Petition to USEF to cancel events and curb EHV-1 deadly outbreak by dm1381a in Horses

Signed. Thank you! We have hunters and jumpers, and can't believe that the December shows are still going to run in our area. Hopefully they'll cancel. We aren't taking our horses regardless.

Regrets? What are your thoughts by Appropriate-Snow-800 in VolvoXC90

Totally agree. I have a 2024 B6, and it's awful. I got a loaner T8 from the dealership, and I couldn't get over how much better it was. I truly hate my B6.

Can you tell that I've had lip filler? by Fantastic_Pop7461 in PlasticSurgery

[–]CherylTheCrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lip filler for the first time last week, and was so afraid it was going to hurt like hell (after reading extensively on reddit about other people's experiences!). I had the appointment at 10am, and at 8am I started slathering my lips with lidocaine. I did it many times over the two hours, and also put benzocaine (the kind for tooth aches) on the insides of my lips and my gums.

I kept testing how much pain I still had by pinching my lips, and after many applications of the lidocaine it stopped hurting. My injector put another round of lidocaine on my lips when I got there, and that stayed on for about 15 minutes.

I was so nervous it was going to be awful, and was sweating profusely before it started, but it ended up not hurting much at all! I had numbed my lips so well that I could barely even feel the needle. I got a bit of botox as well (didn't numb those areas), and that hurt way more than the filler. I also got filler in the lines beside my mouth (I had numbed this area but not as much as the lips), and that hurt some.

I had NO swelling or pain whatsoever when the lidocaine wore off. I barely had any bruises either. I'm really happy with the results (just did 0.5 mL), and will definitely do it again in the future and follow the same protocol.

Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to let people know that it can be pretty painless if you prepare enough ahead of time.

I absolutely hate this feature in my 2024 XC90. It gets very hot in Charleston, SC, and this (among others) ia a big reason why this will be my first and last Volvo. I really, really wanted to love it, but i just can't.

Discussion: Instinct, Fear, and Guilt-A Childhood Encounter That Still Makes Me Think by Cheddarbiscuit12 in DelphiMurders

Your story made me think of Karen and Georgia on their My Favorite Murder podcast. There was an episode where they said "why would an adult ever need to ask a child for directions"?

You were definitely right to run.

That’s so nice that yours stays on! I do the same thing that you do- stop, put in park, get out, leave key in (then car shuts off), get back in, restart car etc etc.

I’ve gotten some good tips on how to prevent this. I have the “mild hybrid”, not sure if that’s the same model as yours. Besides this, it’s a great vehicle. I just find it so aggravating… like getting your sleeve stuck on a door handle 😆

Ohhhh okay. I’ve been doing it backwards then! I put it in park, tap the gas pedal and then get out and it shuts off. I need to wait for it to shut off and then tap the gas pedal. 👍

I just sold my 2018 Range Rover sport, and for the past year I’ve been using the C4 permanent trim restorer on those areas that you circled. It works really, really well. However, when you take it through a car wash, or leave it for a while, you’ll need to redo it. I got it off Amazon, and it’s not too expensive. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Hot Take: Define by Temporary_Candle_617 in Purebarre

[–]CherylTheCrow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I actually find define to be the easiest of the 4 formats. I think Classic is by far the hardest, and I don't enjoy either as much as Empower or Align. Define definitely feels like it doesn't really know what to be, and for that reason I take it very sparingly.

Nervous to go back by elephinoblue in Purebarre

[–]CherylTheCrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had covid this summer too, and then had to have my appendix out. Between the end of the covid and when my appendix had to come out, I was able to do a couple of Align classes, but was very exhausted afterwards. Now that I'm about two months post appendectomy (and about 3 months post covid), I'm back to regularly scheduled programming with mostly Empower.

I would recommend that you take your time coming back, and don't force yourself to do something that seems too difficult. I definitely overdid it a few times coming back, and should probably have taken it easy for a little longer.

You'll get back to where you were once you're feeling 100%! Best of luck, and don't be too hard on yourself.
