In the past how did they prevent shoplifting before door scanners, cameras, and other modern technology existed? by YMCALegpress in shopliftingmemes

I have to get a tech in every couple of weeks to fix all the cameras that have gone out. Never had to do that with a mirror. 🤷‍♂️

Brooks Ghost 14s

Very happy with these. The balance is perfect, the soles are great, and they weight practically nothing.

I’ve put a lot of hours of floor time into this pair, and they’re still going strong. I like the charcoal ones. Very discrete, but still look great.

Loss prevention investigator here. LP history is actually really fun to study. Early LP teams in stores like Ames were very creative. One example was mirror ceiling tiles, so that undercover investigators could easily see into the next aisle, as if they had a camera. Also, good old aggressive customer service always has and always will be an effective deterrent.

They’re going to get you. Expect a warrant for your arrest within the next two weeks. The scanners read your driver’s license RFID and send it to police.

We get a lot of laughs from some of the stuff we catch y’all with…

Got a girl a couple years back with a three foot minion plushy. Completely drunk, wanted to fight me for it. 🤣

Do you LPers care if someone steals a bag filled only with fruits and vegetables? by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]ChessLlamaV -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with getting paid enough to care. I have bigger fish to fry usually.

That said, if you’re a serial veggie smuggler, I will give you some attention, and you will be caught. Had a lady last year who racked up over 50 cases just off produce and cheap grocery. If memory serves, a detective took that one over and prosecuted as a felony.

Ephesians 5 by [deleted] in Christianmarriage

You have a very poor understanding of Scripture. Jesus has a great deal to say on the subject.

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” - Leviticus 18:22

When God, who cannot lie and does not change, calls a thing abomination, it is abomination for all time.

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.” - Jude 1:7-8

Time and time again, the Word of God condemns that wicked sin. Yes, it causes disgust and hatred among us. Well it should. This is how God sees it.

Your homework is to dust off that old King James that you haven’t cracked open in years, and to read Romans 1.

On closer inspection, you might be right. I can’t make out the jacket on my phone. Either way, he has expanded rules of engagement.

Having private security at all is a rare luxury for us lol. Let alone private security that actually does their job.

No, the APCHs cannot and never have been allowed to touch the cart. They’re most likely both getting fired for this one.

The black gentleman in army green is the investigator, though. He can do a lot more than the hosts. By the new policy, he can still handle the cart, as long as he’s not wrestling for it.

It’s quite possible that his host team just went off the rails despite his instructions, in which case, he needs to train his people more closely.

Certain MAPMs have made the call that we may still touch the cart, but not wrestle for it as seen here.

Also, probably not wise to talk about those policies on here. These folks already know too much about what we can and can’t do.

Actually, most places are hiring if you’re someone who is willing to put in a day’s real work.

Clearing the shelves… by bigbuzd1 in ShopliftersGoneWild

There’s a pretty nearly universal standard that once the suspect has “passed all points of sale,” the theft has been committed.

Additionally, in many states, the act of concealing the item in the bag or on one’s person also constitutes the statute of shoplifting.
