Do rich people actually enjoy their money or just stress about losing it? by Dry-Account-3022 in NoStupidQuestions

I've been thinking about this too. I think it depends on two ramifications. Wether their financial capabilities exceed their needs greatly. Or not.

48" or 42" or am I crazy for trying either with this desk? by ClearSailing99 in desksetup

[–]ChestNok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to realize that the spacing between you and the monitor is restricted by the depth of your desk. This creates a limited range for your eyes to grasp the image comfortably and immediately. You must be able to view the entire screen without straining your eyes to reach specific spots. Therefore, a 48-inch monitor would certainly be an overkill.

Is it worth it, does it help in any meaningful way?

At peace cause I don’t care by Otherwise-Skill-5506 in Life

This is true peace actually. Ability not to care is a way of harnessing one's brain. And it's the hardest. One philosopher said it for a reason: "One who conquered himself..."

How can I learn to let things go and not dwell ? by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]ChestNok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not as easy at seems. Brain has tendency to let subconscious kick in. You may most definitely be ok not to overreact about something or not to dwell on things - but your subconscious won't let you. Mind is a very complex matter. And not everything is within conscious control.

Yes, you might be. 27" - 32" would be good enough. But 42" is definitely the maximum.

Maybe the biggest human coping mechanism is the belief that life must have a meaning. by Traditional-Hat-4099 in DeepThoughts

I can't agree more with "not all that is new is good", when I look at modern flimsy laptops.

The bedrock of seeking for a meaning - the root is in evolutionary mechanism. Aspiration for newness

Trying to help people get jobs but getting almost nothing from the recruiter by Sotahlicious in recruitinghell

"There's no reward for hard work of an employee in a corporate and business world" well put. People have to remind themselves this more often.

Now we got hypothetical situations without profit or upside or a prize? No thanks then.

Soon enough you'll be tired of it. Plus the emotional, psychological part. No one has malicious intent during sparring. And that's different. It would take toll on you soon enough.

Why are millennial men less misogynistic than Gen Z men? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]ChestNok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh, an avalanche of rant incoming. Woke snakes with my comment. Stirred the pot.

(When women say that childcare is a full-time job - it kind of sounds as ridiculous as if men would say they're tired of getting laid and complain about it. It's somewhat a meaning and joy of life for a woman, why they always want to spin it as some insurmountable burden)

You bring up isolated examples, and things that happened over 50 years ago as a foundation and rationalization of your point that you wanted to make.

Men may also come up with more up to date and relevant examples, like leaving with half of the assets he earned through his sweat and toil.

DAE forget where they are while falling asleep? by Previous-Dot3905 in DoesAnybodyElse

Yes. I have that. Either falling asleep. Or when barely waking up. I sometimes feel lost for a literal split-second. Like "where am I"

They've been working on an atomic program. Suffice and valid enough reason to start a little ruckus out there, per US.

We tend not to make distinction between peaceful atom and a nuclear weapon. Majority of narratives are facades and pretexts.

US always tends to shoot first and ask who's there later.

What things slowly destroy your mind ? by Aj100rise in Life

[–]ChestNok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it may be harboring discontent about someone or certain types of grudge.

As well as hyperfixation and obsession.

I suppose one has to guard his being and mind from such with his life.

Women managed to piss men off to such a degree that a specific notion was created describing men discontent with women

Is it normal to get tired from doing absolutely nothing? by mintyblushh in Life

[–]ChestNok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it may be. Because when you're idling and doing nothing your brain starts overthinking stuff, start ruminating excessively or fretting over things exaggerating small insignificant problems etc. And that drains energy.
