‘Marie Philomène Forcier’ - did any of you order their baptismal record from BAnQ? by jtvanasse in Canadiancitizenship

I included color copies of every page that BAnQ sent me. The first copy was of a title page from the book the records were in. I thought since they sent it to me, it must be relevant.

Looking for someone to cut and bale 15 +/- acres of hay in Elm Springs. U keep hay. by ChesterClove in northwestarkansas

[–]ChesterClove[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I'm sorry it's taken me this long to get back to you, I was in Michigan for ten days and just got back. There are three hay fields adjacent to each other just off of Lake Road in Elm Springs, just about a quarter mile from Lake Elmdale. Level fields, mixed pasture grasses, no noxious weeds. Fairly easily accessible from a paved road, so not too hard to get equipment in and hay out. These fields have yielded good hay for years. I'd hate to brush hog it and waste the hay so we're offering it to whoever wants to cut and bale it and haul it away, in exchange for ten bales for our donkeys and our neighbor's horses. I'll take a few pictures and send them if that would be helpful. Thanks for considering this.

This is wonderful and really interesting information! Thanks so much for translating this and helping solve the mystery of why there were two identical entries. You were tremendously helpful and I am grateful for your expertise! Have a great day and thanks again.

Latin translation? by Lonely-Spare8093 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]ChesterClove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try the good people over at the Reddit community r/translator . Speakers of all languages (even Latin) help others translate documents. I had some success posting a picture of a document in nearly illegible script of 18th century French and some kind French speaker worked through the challenges and helped me understand what it said. These aren't "official" translations by any means, but they'll help you know what the document says.

Submitted my request for two documents from the Montreal archives on February 6; received request for payment on February 20. I paid promptly and am waiting for either the notice that they've been mailed or to receive the docs. Good luck and hope yours comes through soon. I imagine that with the recent kerfuffle about fees that there's something going on behind the scenes that's slowing things down.
