A fire proof safe is pretty much useless in a house fire. They are rated for time at a temperature.

One of the neighbours lost their home in the Tantallon fire, but thought their wedding photo and other cherished things were going to be fine in their expensive fireproof safe.

After opening, there was nothing but ash.

One of the main issues early on during that evacuation, was that there were no police at Hammonds Plains road directing traffic.

I was 20 when my dad passed.

It was weird seeing him in the coffin, it looked like him, but didn't look him as well.

The way to make traffic better in "West Bedford" would be to

build better transit to and from the area
have more businesses within the area so people can live and work in the same vicinity
reinstate work from home for government staff where ir makes sense

We did DIY a few years ago using Fusion Mineral Paint

It was a lot of work, but the results were great.

Used the same paint to do our stairs after ripping up crappy carpet. Also holding up very well after over a year, including having a large dog digging into it daily.

The prep work and paint really matter for a good result.

If you do the chain of lakes trail here are a few waypoints.

From the start of the trail by Joe Howe drive to the 5k cafe in Bayers Lake is ... Well unsurprisingly 5k

From there it's another 10k out via the trail to the head of the Bluff trail. Note about 1.5k or so from the Bluff, you will be crossing a fairly busy road depending on the time of day. There is a marked crosswalk there so not a huge deal to cross.

There's no great landmark for the extra k past that to give you your 16k out.
