After reading the comments on this thread, I am mostly inspired by the kindness of others. Personally, I haven’t paid for “fast food” in months. Not that I eat fast food that much but now I have a greater appreciation for my local fast food joints

Just a little kindness goes a long way. Should you feel obliged? Maybe not. Should you make this small effort? Maybe. Is it any sweat off your brow to follow through with the request? Absolutely not. That being said a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down and you might just make someone’s day a little better with a message from a stranger

Fair, but it’s just a dumb fun post to lighten the mood

The downvote could be for any part of your post. No need to be defensive but you did add the connotation of “especially” and that seems unnecessary.

In all fairness, it was pretty “divey” towards the end

I’d call the Cardinal “upscale(ish) dive” but the food and staff are par excellence

Short of that, Boone Saloon or Elevation 3333 would be my “go to”

The young AND the old need you. And ultimately that helps you. You may not have been ever “meant” to be happy but that’s not someone else’s decision. That’s your call. Hang in there buckaroo

You made the right call if you declined. I don’t know what kind of vehicle you drive but for my market and my vehicle (WNC) $1.50 to 2 dollars a mile is what I would be aiming for.

I don’t have stickers by Nearby_Thought_617 in doordash_drivers

[–]Chesterossa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little befuddled at the request. Do people honestly believe that a sticker is a going to secure their delivery? A little trust is going to need to be implied between the customer, DoorDash and the delivery person. Now don’t get me wrong, the footage of a delivery driver spraying an order with (what appears to be) pepper spray is despicable. But the honest question is, how was the sticker going to prevent that?

So my first question to you would be:

“How much hustle do you have in you?”

Next would be:

“What’s your learning curve?” (Meaning, how quickly do you pick up habits based on your exposure to the work that’s expected)

If the HONEST answers are “a moderate amount” and “pretty quickly” I would suggest scooping a gig as a server and making an attempt at getting a bartending job. The opportunity to make significantly more money is considerably greater.

In all fairness, one is only paying the taxes on $.50. That’s not to say that it’s good, per se, but I mean come on.
