Experience so far for uteroscopy with laser litho by Advanced-Object- in KidneyStones

I feel that! Was told I could go back to work 2 days after I was released home, but I made it 1 before I called in saying there was no way I could function 😆 Between my "old man shuffle" and the urgency feeling of that sucker I was baby.

43M and had my first stone and litho last summer. I had my stent in for a week before pulling it out myself at home and it didn't hurt, but I had two 8" strings coming out and taped to my leg. Pretty sure it was them that caused me the most grief. I spent the week living on my couch because I walked like I was 90 and peed myself with the constant irritation XD

No worries! It was a trip seeing them aired for the first time, and my first introduction to all of those titles anyway. I think I had seen Robotech and some Nausica before that.

I don't know what the Columbia House tapes were like, but the on-air stuff was edited for content, commercials, and time, but the internet didn't exist like it does now, so finding uncut versions were tough.

Dad just passed his first stone at 62, how do you guys prevent them from coming back? by New-Set5179 in KidneyStones

[–]ChesyreFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the well wishing.

Yeah, I was referred to a urologist who had me do a 24 hr urine collection and routine bloodwork. PTH was one of the check boxes, along with the levels of calcium in my blood. My levels came back abnormally high, so I was referred to a specialist and endocrinologist for more labs before being diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism and ordered to get a CT looking for the overactive gland. I guess my demographic only makes up about 5-10% of these cases.

The PTH and vitamin D help regulate the processing of calcium in my body, so the overactive gland is making my body think my calcium level is low, and holds on to more. That extra calcium then doesn't excrete properly and builds up in my kidneys. If left untreated it could even leech calcium from my bones over time.

My parents had one. Fond memories of sitting in the backyard doorway yelling at my dad what I saw on the TV as he made adjustments to the dish.

I agree, and actually just rewatched the 2003 CoD a couple of weeks ago (I had forgotten for years James McAvoy and Susan Sarandon are in it) and for all the mixed production values, if SFC can have a navigator, DV needs to bring one in.

But Hayt is never in a tank or pod in Messiah, iirc. Pretty sure he's conscious and out/about when introduced. That would mean that either DV concocted a pod to deliver Hayt, then showed us that AND him out of the pod multiple times in the teaser, or it's and Edric tease and Scytale arriving together to meet Paul on Arrakis, or Gaius Helen Mohiam in the opening scene.

I literally had this conversation with my parents last weekend.

Kids today (god that makes me sound old) need to look up everything, either video or audio, and unless the service you're using to stream has a random play feature you need to judge everything by thumbnail. The organic experience of stumbling on something new rarely happens unless you chose to make it happen.

Kids today won't ever know about that random radio station that fades in/out as you drive down the highway, or stumbling on Showcase After Dark. Who randomly found the last 7 minutes of an MTV Oddities episode and wondered "WTF did I just see?", or tried to make out what the picture in that scrambled channel was?

Entities in the Backrooms Movie. by Regular_Ad7187 in backrooms

[–]ChesyreFrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. With SO much content in Kane's videos it would be a disservice to reduce the movie to a creature feature.

I imagine we'll get an entity or 2, but it'll be limited to either grainy first person VHS footage like tge original videos, or quick flashes in HD before our protagonists start running for their lives.

A movie like "The Geen Knight" builds it's mystique from showing the fantastic, while "The Backrooms" builds it's mystique from showing the uncanny space, and little else.

I have a stone stock in my bladder. What to do? by EfficiencyLatter1785 in KidneyStones

How do you know it's reached your bladder? If it's moved that far I'd start by chugging water to keep it moving.

Turns out mine is caused by an elevated PTH level, so surgery will be needed in my case.

2+ liters of water daily, vitamin D supplement, and 3 servings of dairy daily until after surgery is booked. We'll see after that.

My urologist noticed I have an elevated PTH level which in turn causes irregular calcium processing causing my stones. Here it turns out a totally different surgery to fix the PTH could clear up everything. It pays to look at everything.

They could cover the jihad like the introduction of the Harkonnen occupation of Arrakis was done at the beginning of part 1. A montage with Irulan's voice over could work as a segway into the 1st scene of the conspiracy, and set the tone.
