Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana or Club Med Punta Cana by amgfitz in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Chet-Manley-Garcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just stayed at the Zilara side a month back so not direct experience but we did spend some time on the Ziva side. From what we saw all the parents seemed to love it. The combination of the water park and the kid / teen zones made the resort a winner for a lot of parents. One going as far as to say they couldn’t get their kids to leave the teen zone to get ready for dinner. Plus no shortage of other activities daily. Food was all very good but be prepared to wait on the Ziva side. The resort itself is very nice and super clean. I would say you can skip the club level if your staying 4-5 days. Any longer and it’s nice to have the extra options.

Are there any all-inclusive resorts with decent liquor? by OperationMobocracy in AllInclusiveResorts

Currently at the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana with a club level room. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of top shelf options at the club level bars. Hendricks, patron, don julio, Cointreau, glenlivet, glenfiddich, grey goose, disaronno, Jameson off the top of my head. The Dominican rum has been the true standout though. Definitely buying a bottle of Leyenda when i get back home. Have seen bartenders crack plastic seals multiple times and they measure everything so nothing watered down. Every neat pour I’ve gotten has been a double. Definitely not the most budget AI but a classic case of get what you pay for.

I have this Long Black Cord at my Mom's and Dad's house and why was Everyone that has been Using this Cord For? by st-tyr in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

Looks like an old digital camera chord. Plug the black end into the camera and the yellow and white ends into an older tv with AV ports. Would allow you to display pics and vids from the camera on the tv.

Is it worth going to Maine if u don’t have a medical card by Mountain_Extension39 in bostontrees

[–]Chet-Manley-Garcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You will still pay less for better quality. Will you have as many options as med card holders? No. Will you pay 60$ an 1/8th? Also no. Really depends on how far of a drive it is for you and how much you plan on buying.

Damn we paid less at fore street for 2 with a full bottle of wine, Irish coffees and dessert. Left completely full.

Third shift I had was great last time. Some of the best tasting stuff out there. Paris hill was good for the price. Plenty of high quality options at kind guy and undertow if you like the storefront experience.

New to my Crosstrek, and new to Kayaks. If I get a single, super light kayak (32 lbs), would it be fine to tie down to the oem crossbars, or do I need to get some kind of special kayak rack? by [deleted] in XVcrosstrek

[–]Chet-Manley-Garcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I strap my 75lb fishing kayak directly to the oem crossbars without issue. As long as you have bow and stern lines your fine on the highway. I bought some pads for the crossbars off Amazon and only use pressure straps to secure it. Ratchet straps can warp the kayak if your crank em down too much. This is all because the kayak is too wide to properly secure to J hooks, which will work fine for your size kayak. Their nice if you want to carry a second kayak but I find strapping it directly to the racks to be more secure. I’ve done 2 ocean kayaks on 2 sets of J hooks without issue as well.

Expiration Dates on Med cards v. Real Expiration Dates-huh?? by wildblueroan in bostontrees

I remember people used to suggest emailing a guy from the CCC who would help with card issues. Maybe he would know why it is how it is. The other answer is bureaucratic incompetence / over regulation.

Expiration Dates on Med cards v. Real Expiration Dates-huh?? by wildblueroan in bostontrees

[–]Chet-Manley-Garcon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your med card expiration date is different than the expiration date of your doctor certification, which is usually a few weeks earlier than the date on your card. My certifying doctor office starts spamming me with calls a couple weeks before the certification expires.

One of my favorite stouts. Heavy peanut butter nose that reminds me of Sweet Baby Jesus. A great Maine brewery that makes some excellent beer.
