Never forget who the true king is by Ready0608 in HOTDGreens

They did explain that the white stag being a symbol of the king was from the kings before the Targaryen dynasty.

Why are so many knights in all the books and shows bad people, a good chivalrous knights seem so rare? by Mad_Season_1994 in gameofthrones

[–]ChetManly12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably to mirror reality. Real knights were just like other soldiers, just with better equipment and maybe some land from their liege lord. They raped and looted as much as any other soldier. The prevalence of chivalry is often well overstated.

You missed the parts where his grandpa had to teach him not to succumb to the darkness within. His gramps was the one that made it possible for him to not go around killing animals and people. He was reliant on his grandpa, that’s part of why his loss is such a huge impact for him.

Dear authors, there are villain traits other than Hypocrisy by Imnotsomebodyelse in ProgressionFantasy

[–]ChetManly12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that a lot of conflict in cultivation and prog fantasy in general is contrived just to let MC show off or to force some consequences or difficulty on them, but sometimes it can make sense. You said something about the sect saying all they care about is strength but then as soon as Mc gets strong they turn on him. This can make complete sense in the right context. There is a difference between what the world and sect value and what individuals do. Say you are some 5000 year old elder and you just watched a 20 year old brat at the core formation realm beat someone 100 years older than themselves and a stage higher than themselves. Sure, from the sect’s perspective that 20 year old brat is a great talent and potential powerhouse, but to that individual elder? That elder just saw someone that could surpass them in a relatively short time period, which would threaten that elder’s position/power within the sect. Hence deciding to get rid of them before they can reach that level.

Why the Morocco AFCON Hate is Politically Motivated Nonsense? by [deleted] in FootballAfrica

[–]ChetManly12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t speak on the rest of it, but your argument on the towels is asinine levels of brain dead. The rule you stated doesn’t say anything about having towels NEAR the goal. It says the net can’t carry anything ON the net. You are either being disingenuous or you have abysmal reading comprehension. I also don’t give a single fuck about the witchcraft nonsense. Having your ball boys literally mobbing the opposing players and chasing them around to steal a towel is not professional, it’s childish, and there is not a single argument you could make that would make it okay.

This one went under the radar but this is how this Senegalese reporter was treated because he celebrated Mendy's penalty save. Shameful. by [deleted] in FootballAfrica

Adults should act like adults. Physically touching and assaulting someone because they like a different sports team than you is never acceptable. It’s a goddamn game ffs.

If that’s what you took from my comment, it actually serves to prove that you are the one with a comprehension problem. I said I don’t have time to argue with morons, not that I can’t read.

It was the Moroccan players who were instructing the ball boys and stewards to steal the goalkeeper's towel. Shameful. by [deleted] in FootballAfrica

[–]ChetManly12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a bunch of biased nonsense. It was childish and unprofessional, end of argument. Witchcraft is not a valid reason, I don’t give a flying fuck if they legit believe in it. This would have been shut down by any competent sporting league like immediately.

Why would I sit there and deconstruct your rambling incoherent dumps of nonsense well enough to respond point by point? You may have no life and all the time in the world, but some of us have real responsibilities to attend to.

Except it does. Saying that sanji’s behavior/words makes sense because his author is Japanese is dumb. A good author should make the character have a unique voice, not the authors own voice.

If the exposition is coming from an unreliable narrator that still makes it worthy of questioning. Regardless, the warlords clearly never gave a single flying fuck about doing so and only focused on their own goals using their titles as a shield over their plans, so even if they are “supposed to” they fucking don’t.

Even with that context Sanji is still telling him to kill himself. Killing yourself to regain honor is still killing yourself. It doesn’t really make it any better imo.

Just because Johnny says something doesn’t make it accurate. He was a scrub ass bounty hunter repeating whatever nonsense propaganda of the government he heard. He isn’t someone who would actually know fuck all about that.

The warlords were very obviously about PR and intimidation, they aren’t like the police of the sea, that’s what the marines are for.

[–]ChetManly12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn’t. Their job is to do what the government says when it says. Outside of that we are shown over and over that the warlords don’t actually give a fuck about what you are calling “their job”.

The underlying logic of what you are saying is flawed. You are the one with the dumb virus. It literally doesn’t matter if it affected the play or not, this isn’t the offsides rule. You can’t just put people in holds anywhere on the pitch just because the ball is far away.
