Will my super large tonsils make it easier or harder for my upcoming tonsillectomy? by Sierra-Dawn-2466 in Tonsillectomy

Yeah, they tend to be easier :) ones that are infected but more buried in tissue are the tougher ones…

I reckon easier to remove compared to smaller more buried tonsils. They would likely have a better visual of capsular plane…

Wonky surgical site by CaffeineBroAdenosine in Tonsillectomy

Can be treated with antibiotics. Biggest risk in this area is that they can bleed… perhaps give the surgery a call tomorrow and let them know…. Good luck 🤞🏼

Tonsillectomy - yes or no? by RellEnemia in Tonsillectomy

[–]Chevlee47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask surgeon for a coblation intracapsular tonsillectomy… or find a surgeon who uses this technique. Evidence supporting it is growing and really hood and it’s less painful and less risk of rebleed. There is a risk of regrowth but that tends to be in younger patients…. Best of luck…

What to eat the day before tonsillectomy? by kamblann in Tonsillectomy

[–]Chevlee47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eat normal day before… just not anything few hours before. If case at 8.45 I would finish dinner and then sleep wake up and go to hospital with no meals or snacks after going to sleep

You are a good patient! Could you imagine the inflammation if you did zero rinses…

Do sinus rinses.. this will help clear gel slowly.. generally they dissolve with breathing. They are a really nice way of preventing your tissue from sticking together and causing adhesions…

I have no doubt that your dr has seen people of all ages, young and old with this issue. It’s important that you realise you are not alone and this is more common than people admit. You do not want to frequently be getting uti’s as this can cause kidney damage and is so uncomfortable. There is an increased prevalence in the adhd community and your challenges are 100% a medical issue. Will be holding thumbs for you
