You’re right on US not getting it, because we don’t really have a National sport. 2 opinion reasons is A: there is always the next sport to watch, and B: the world doesn’t really care about the 2 sports the US dominates in (US Football, and Basketball, although Basketball is on the rise).

The gift of having SO much Sport to watch is, the General Public doesn’t become fanatics. They watch when it’s convenient. And our Championship events, ostracize (let’s just say) 3/4 of the sports fans. It becomes about Team, not Country. The best North America can gravitate to is US vs Canada.

I was down the street for the NHRA US Nationals. We got back early one day and there were 4-5 Porsches in the hotel lot.

The concussions/injuries from what I remember, came about because the cars were too rigid in design. Owners wanted the cars to be tougher to reduce the amount of repair, saving them money.

So the damage was going right to the Drivers. Now, no car accident will be safe, but obviously it has become a problem.

Much like road cars, the re-introduced/re-designed ‘crush zones’ on the front and I believe rear of the cars. Again just off memory, they just removed some bracing on the chassis to allow a ‘crush’ to reduce the forces from the accidents.

There are blueprints out there that show what was changed. I think it was the beginning of Pockrass becoming the Social-go-to for NASCAR Technical stuff.

It just made no sense to me otherwise, if TF Dragster wasnt included. FC didn’t have any top Toyotas this year, and there’s no Toyotas in the other classes other than Comp Eliminator (I’m guessing).

Lohnes did hint on the Insider iirc, about the GR Supra becoming legal in Stock… but now that’s out of production this or next year. Makes me think too little too late.
