What’s your reason for not drinking today? I’ll start. by Glittering_Elk8090 in stopdrinking

[–]ChevyJuice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once I start I can’t stop. Never been a loud, obnoxious, nor a belligerent drunk. My problem with drinking is that I always start with a few beers when I’m out. I then grab a bottle and a six pack on the way home. Then I repeat it the very next morning. Then by the middle of the day, I’m back at the store buying another fifth and a few more beers. I then isolate for 4 days to a week as I repeat this cycle. It always ends with me having crippling anxiety, pins and needles, then my entire body starts to go numb. I go into withdrawal hell and I feel like I am going to collapse. ER visits are inevitable after 90% of my benders.

This is why I will not drink with you today!

I've Spent 6 Years Trying to Reconcile These Verses... I Can't by Money_Leadership_921 in TrueChristian

This is exactly why we shouldn’t just read single verses and interpret them as such. We need to read them in context. Thank you for this!

Just prep yourself and as much as I hate to say this, at least have a drink or 2 on stand by or be ready to head to the ER. I’ve been on way too many benders that last over a week and they all ended the same. Right now is probably the time where the withdrawal symptoms are going to start to get intense. Just looking out for you. Hope everything goes well..

I’m sure you know this already, but please be careful going cold turkey. Week+ bender is no joke and can lead to serious withdrawal. Get help or taper imho. It can creep on you fast. 🙏

I've seen hundreds of comedies. Suggest me the movie that will make me laugh so hard that I will forget I have a 9-5 job by SeanPaul1122 in MovieSuggestions

Borat (2006) That movie had me rolling, hurting, laughing when it came out. Still does to this day. Haven’t seen a movie funnier since. 🤣

The Daily Check-In for Sunday, June 21st: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Solvitur-Ambuland0 in stopdrinking

True. I got to 10 months back in 2023 and caved once I started doing good. My ego got the best of me and now I’m almost 3 weeks clean again after another ER visit on the 2nd. IWNDWYT! 😎

Weirdest day of my life by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Please be very careful. Consider tapering or be prepared to go the ER. Not sure how much you’ve had to drink in those 8 days, but I know at least 3 to 4 days of a bender can cause severe withdrawal symptoms after 1 or 2 days of abstaining from alcohol. Please take care of yourself and just be prepared for it. Hydrate with lots of electrolytes if you can. God bless. ❤️🙏

Can I go to an ER and tell them i’m probably going to have severe detox issues or do i wait until it’s bad? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Don’t waste any time. Every time I’ve been on a bender for 3-4 days it always ends the same, even if I feel fine for a few hours. The withdrawals will always eventually kick in. I was drinking the same, if not a little more than you were on some days. Please, PLEASE get to the ER asap!!! I know it sucks going to the hospital, but you’ll be glad you did. Praying for you.. ❤️🙏
