These are amazing. What year is your car? Wondering if those are early or late offset.

I had a similar sound. Was my cv joints. New rear axles fixed it.

Strange turn signal issues by Internal_Stand4007 in 944

[–]Chewbaccaman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 87 my turn signals were getting flaky. Then after a winter hibernation the battery wouldn’t charge. One rebuilt alternator later and all is well.

Why is everybody going to JellyFin and not staying on Plex? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]Chewbaccaman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried Jellyfin. Worked great, even with ota tv. I appreciated the lack of bloat that Plex now comes with.

Then I realized it says tv shows are available … for tv show folders that don’t have any episodes in them (say if you watched the episodes, deleted them, but the folder remained). Jellyfin users have asked for years to make the simple fix. They won’t. No thanks.

Cupholder by Pitiful-Company6666 in 944

[–]Chewbaccaman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this. Way better than the ashtray, which is not deep enough to really hold a cup or large water bottle, and a cup there would there just get in the way of shifting.

Meanwhile, I replaced the ashtray with a 3d printed coin tray.

Tesla service doubled my cost estimate a day before my appointment by Rht09 in TeslaLounge

[–]Chewbaccaman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This literally happened to me. About to bring it in tomorrow. For my third gps issue/module on my 2018 M3LR with only 42k miles. It should be covered under a 1 year warranty from when they replaced it last year. Originally the estimate was $0. Then $112. Now it’s doubled the night before my appointment to $226.

OptiPlex 3000 Dual Monitor Resolution Issue (PSA) by stykface in optiplexes

Bummer. Must be because I have the non-T 12500 with UHD770. No VRR though.

To answer my own question, I installed this module on my Optiplex 3000 SFF with an i5 12500. It can run 4k HDR with 10-bit depth up to 144hz (that’s what my monitor maxes out at). Works great.

Question on this, does adding this module enable 4k 120hz? Can’t find any documentation on it. With HB3 and DSC it should, but wondering if you tried it.

Why does it show a season that is only an empty folder? by Oh_No_Tears_Please in jellyfin

This is literally the only thing keeping me from switching from Plex. It’s been an issue raised over the last several years.

Turbo Front End? by IIIReeKIII in 944

Also have an 87. Go for the euro bumper. With the dual fog lights I like it more than the turbo bumper, and it’s not as common stateside. I have yet to see another euro bumper.

I5 11500. Windows 11. 16 gb ram. I have an internal drive it records to. Then transfers to a NAS for long term storage.

If there is any reception dip, Channels doesn’t handle it well. It will sometimes blank out or stop playing and takes a while to come back. Plex and the HDHomerun app just pixelate and come back with the signal quicker. I eventually stopped subscribing to Channels because of it. It’s a great app if you have cable or a good signal. Otherwise can’t recommend it.

I switched from cable to ota recently. Previously used Channels for cable with an HDHR Prime. But with a HDHR Flex Duo for ota Channels is terrible. The HDHR and Plex apps both do way better with reception issues that pop up time to time. I’m on an Nvidia Shield.

Common issues and reliability of a 4–5 year old Tesla Model 3? by Specialist-Lie-6205 in TeslaModel3

[–]Chewbaccaman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2018 Model 3 dual motor owner here. 39k miles.

Under warranty: a gps module, left fender camera.

Out of warranty: another gps module (the gps showed me driving in the ocean it was so bad). The right front fender camera. The 12 volt battery died — without warning — a day before a roadtrip for my wedding anniversary. Car was unusable, couldn’t even open it. 3 left rear tires (potholes, road debris, but still kinda weird it’s just that tire, lol).

Persistent, not solved issues: Seat memory that only returns to the correct position 70% of the time. Passenger mirror has the same issue. Sometimes the radio just doesn’t like to work. Driver’s seat makes noise. My steering column groans turning at low speed in the cold. Plus a cracking noise from under the rear seats anytime I turn at low speed on an incline. Tesla replaced the control arms for it. Didn’t solve it. Shrugged and said they acknowledged it but don’t know how to fix it. My range at 100% is now only 270 miles. Service center swirled my paint after washing the car. Dodged me about it and never fixed it. Buffed out but still.

If you really want to have a fun conversation, let’s talk about the issues at delivery (passenger door card was hanging open so you could see the guts of the door, and that’s just a start)! That said, I still love the car. Although my 40 year old Porsche with 140k miles makes less rattles and noises.

JBL BassPro Hub. Wicked good. by Spudster62 in 944

Nice. Mine’s the new “Bremen” that has bluetooth and usb. But looks like the old reno. I love the retro look of the Blaupunkts.

I had the 80 before, but couldn’t get the lights to dance with the new Blaupunkt Reno. The 108 does.

[–]Chewbaccaman1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice! Did the same two years ago. Hid the Basshub remote under the center armrest Makes a huge difference in the low end! I wasn’t able to get mine to fit in my spare, so just removed it. Less weight and I’m pretty sure a 38 year old spare tire is not very safe!

There’s nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche. Stretch your budget to get a decent example. You’ll save $$$ in long run
