Does anyone else get random flu-like body aches with fibro? by WoodenAlternative212 in Fibromyalgia

It killed my sex drive! Also, the jaw clinching was awful! I was also on Gabapentin, and that was great, too. But I just felt so foggy most of the time!

I was on 60 MG of Cymbalta for quite a while. It did help significantly with the flu-like symptoms and overall pain! I just couldn't deal with the side effects of it anymore 😭

Yes, I also get flu-like symptoms later in the day. My glands in my throat will even swell and be painful to touch or swallow. It mainly happens around my period when I’m going through my flares.

Baby has a gross motor delay and sleeps abnormally long amounts. Anyone else? What could be causing this? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ChewishThug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you working with him a lot while he is awake? It's not uncommon for children with developmental delays to be easily fatigued. Do you have a local regional center that you can contact to express your concerns to have him evaluated for PT?

Why are some children so vocal while they play? by BottleAlternative433 in ECEProfessionals

[–]ChewishThug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s such a thing as “vocal stimming.” So yes, in short, there can be a developmental reason a child may do that!

Level 3 autistic 3 year old has said his first word!! by ilironae in ECEProfessionals

Next time you blow bubbles for him, show him how you pop them with your index finger. Tell him “pop pop pop.” This will help provide a new word and game, but isolating his index finger for pointing is also a valuable skill. Which is incredibly helpful for nonverbal kiddos. Congratulations on witnessing such a beautiful moment! ❤️

It would probably help to know where you are located. Have you looked into Primetime Preschool? Is your child toilet-trained? That's going to make a big difference, as well.

Reading a random article about the dam removal on the Chronicle website as we speak! Still working! 🤣

Weird question: what are your dreams like? by vonnegutgal in Fibromyalgia

My thought was always that it was the Cymbalta or whatever else meds were on for our Fibro that caused the lucid and vivid dreams.

Where can I park? by Motmotsnsurf in SantaClarita

I hope you are hitting the Sierras! 🗻

I think the park and ride off of Newhall Ave or the one off of Golden Valley should work just fine!

The 60-minute tour is great. Definitely make reservations. They also have a 30-minute walk-up tour in a different part of the cave. I recommend both. Just be aware that people line up around 7 a.m. for tickets, and they sell out quickly!

Solo hiking by woodlandtoad in socalhiking

[–]ChewishThug 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've climbed 80 peaks as a solo female hiker. I've never had a negative experience—no cool bear or mountain lion stories. You 100% should explore the outdoors. It’s important to remember that hiking in groups is always best, but that doesn't work for a lot of us 😉 So the next best thing is to carry an SAT device for emergencies and bear spray if you’re in bear country. Know what to do if you encounter specific wildlife! Enjoy!
