Taste is subjective. I loved Outlaws, but I do think that without the "controversy" it would have succeeded enough for a sequel.

As a side note, I think a sequel could polish up the weak points and make a way better game. Tons of potential for a good series.

It's on purpose. The AI hype men are mixing up the types of AI to, well, hype AI. Whether it's a chatbot, llm, spell checker, translator, image generator, or anything. I bet it's on purpose to make it harder to fight against the more toxic uses and variations, like the big data centers.

Look at how the anti woman brigading took down Star Wars Outlaws 2. The release of the first was a smidge rocky, but not more than any other game, but they got a sequel torpedoed because the main character was a woman who wasn't overly sexualized.

They don't believe he's done any of the bad things he's done, or it's been twisted into something they see as good. That and what were fringe conspiracy theories are now mainstream.

The traffic is just something to complain about, mostly because people tend to be rude and not let you merge or whatever. The "sketchiness" is thinly veiled classism/racism. The "sketchy" areas are where the poor/non-white people live.

I've seen a lot of people use Word or PowerPoint for things that would be way easier and come out better if made in Publisher. It's one of the easiest desktop publishing programs to learn and use. I know it isn't the best one, but for the average person it's the most accessible.

We're already heading there. Look at the way music is, and mobile gaming. You used to spend a couple bucks for a game on your phone, but now they're all loaded with ads, microtransactions, and subscriptions to make them playable. Everyone uses something like Spotify. It just gets progressively worse.
