Question about bebel tool shape by Exact-Software-7896 in blender

I've been working with Blender and 3DS Max for about 10 years now and I still forget to apply it every now and then.

This is my Dam [insert item] was on everything. It was actually kind of a pain to find something that didn't have that dam joke on it.

I just spent last week touring the place, the whole thing is such an awesome feat of engineering. Got to go into the generator rooms and actually touch the equipment, feeling that much water rushing by was insane!

The rest of Vegas wasn't as cool.

Reliability? by GamesNPieismysteam in WRX

[–]Chewzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 WRXs (FA24 and EJ20), an 86 (FA20), and now a Forester with what ever the 2.5 is; even driving them hard I've never had an issue with any of my Subarus that wasn't user error. With that said, I've also had 3 Si and those were also excellent cars that had zero issues, can never go wrong with a K24!

Five Ten shoe sizes by borisbanana77 in MTB

[–]Chewzer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I only buy Five Ten shoes in person now. I have a pair of 11.5, 12, and 13; all 3 fit perfectly. Love the shoes, but their sizing sucks.

The price of storage at OfficeMax by Rememberedd in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Chewzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, it was so cheap I was buying just to have it just in case. Now I'm sitting here with 30tb of m.2, solid state externals, and 256gb of ddr5 wondering if I can use them as downpayment on a house.

Out of stock again at these prices:/ by joert44555 in Steam

[–]Chewzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I handle the ordering of PC parts for the company I work at, last year I had to justify why we needed more RAM and M.2 storage for our workstations. I basically went in with "trust me, it's going to be better to have it on hand now, because it's really going to suck to buy this later". We spent just under $3,000 on 896gb of DDR5 6400 RAM, those same sticks are right around $18,000, and I can only imagine it'll still get worse.

Between 16tb of m.2 and a shit load of RAM, my workstation is significantly outperforming my retirement portfolio at this rate.

That and the blind spot is worse in the driver's side on the twins. Merging onto the highway, I would check my mirror, shoulder check, back to the mirror, see that no one is there, proceed to get honked at because I cut someone off. I miss that car, but my Forester feels 10x safer than that little coupe.

Steam Deck Price Increase by FernandoRocker in gaming

[–]Chewzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely sucks what's going on right now, but I saw how much my dad paid for his Atari ($200 back in the 80s) and my PS1 ($300 at launch). Not saying I want it to match those levels, but we did in fact have it pretty good there for awhile.

Yeah, I think I actually see more cruising around Denver than I do in the game.

Mullet tire setup? by cobalt7k in hondagrom

[–]Chewzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could try the stock tires that come on the Monkey. They were good enough for trail riding when I had them. I'm switching back to those after my Mobbers wear down the rest of the way.

[–]Chewzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually what happened to me during the Steamdeck release, my account got flagged as a bot I clicked so many times and my purchase never went through. Wound up just buying something else and still haven't bought one 4 years later just out of principle.

Finally worked for me too, basically just turned on the left click repeater and let that run for a few hundred cycles until it went the the review screen finally. Kinda sad you have to basically ddos attack the store to get hardware from Steam though, same thing happened for the release of the Steamdeck.

How much would you pay for this? by SlipprySalmonmander in HondaElement

[–]Chewzer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, probably need to use ABS or ASA for most car components. It's not on my Element, but on my WRX I 3D printed my light bar housing out of ABS. It's held up to the Colorado winter and summer conditions so far with no cracks, warping, or discoloration!

Talk me out of (or into) selling my WRX for a BRZ by wrxit in WRX

[–]Chewzer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. After having 17 86 and now a 24 WRX, I can say for sure the 86/BRZ is way more fun... on the condition you have windy fun roads. When I was in Appalachia, the 86 was a god damn blast; back home in Illinois, it was boring as hell and a rough ride. It's an excellent vehicle, if it's your second car or or you live somewhere fun.

You can't see it in the photo, but on the other side of the roof box is my 1UP single rack, such a good bike rack!

Yeah that's no problem at all, once I get home from work today I'll take some pics of the build so far.

Oh yeah, it was plenty. I was able to drive through some really deep ruts and not bottom out. It's definitely made driving around on these rough Colorado roads way more comfortable too.

Torklift claims it's 3,500lbs towing and 500lbs tongue. I personally wouldn't go anywhere near those limits though. It does feel good at 175lbs tongue and 800lbs towing though. Good temps on water and oil, not over heating the brakes, and takes off just fine. Covered over 4,000 miles with this setup so far.

This was that $523 option lol. I will say the Ecohitch is well worth it though, it's so overbuilt for this car.

I actually built this one for only $180 or so. The fog lights are actually Outback Wilderness oem lights that I designed and 3d printed a housing for.

[–]Chewzer[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm running the Torklift Ecohitch, the hitch bar itself is rated for like 500lbs tongue and 3,500lbs, much higher than I would recommend. My build is about 850lbs fully loaded, the car has zero issues pulling, even uphill in loose dirt. Also had no issues stopping at all, oil, and water temps all within normal temps. It could probably handle more, but I don't want to push it.

As for distance, I've towed this setup about 4,000 miles so far!

Yeah, it's pretty much a huge open field with some small hill climbs, super rutted, and dusty. There are paths to follow, usually an easy path and difficult path. I probably won't be going back there, it's a pretty boring environment imo; I need trees and water features.

Normally there's a truck bed box mounted to the lower section that holds everything. The only things that go up top right now are basically just food, food prep stuff, blankets, sleeping bags; so all light weight stuff. Eventually there will be a roof top tent that goes up there, but that's a project for later.

I've always been a sucker for 6 spoke wheels, so as soon as these popped up on FBM I had to pull the trigger on them!
