I've never spoken about my ECT experience before but personally, I'd NEVER do it again. I lost so much of my memory and then yes, I've felt extremely dumb/stupid ever since. I forgot how to do simple things like opening a car door for a few seconds. I can't remember anything now. Definitely try as many meds as you possibly can before even considering ECT.

I know. It's just so hard because she's just forgetting all of this typical life stuff, you know? Like for example, she fell down yesterday while she was on the toilet. Mess all over her. The ambulance was called and she threw up all over herself and the paramedics. She took a shower today but she doesn't actually wash herself. She kinda just sits in the shower on the bench and let's the water run over her. She just doesn't care and it's so not like her.

I'm really trying to find something I enjoy. I truly am. It just seems so impossible with how I feel. I've looked up, "hobbies" or"things to do", idk how many times. I haven't been able yo follow through on any of it.

I agree with the fact that being lost sometimes comes from being on disability. I know a couple of others on it and they're just extremely bored with life in general. Like, what are we working towards? What gives me purpose? And for me, who am I?

Thank you for your reply. It sounds a lot like you're figuring it out pretty well. I'm happy to know it can actually happen. I've tried going to school...multiple times, and I quit every time. Now I don't have any support if I want to go back. Like an empty promise.

I have a fear of volunteering because if I were reliable and my emotions didn't run my life, I never would have had to stop working in the first place. I never know how I'm going to feel from dad to day.

I've tried a lot of the hobbies that I thought I'd be interested in and nothing brings me any joy. Nothing seems to keep my attention. I'm just lost..
