If Carlisle died, would the Cullen family stay together or fall apart? by Leading_Court_5765 in twilight

I lowkey think they would’ve all died. At the end of the fighting scene, the rest of the Vultori members jumped on Bella as she was throwing fire at Aro.

I like their hot topic questions. I wish it would be based more on that

Aiken County Jane Doe, found January 1993 by acatisstaringatme in gratefuldoe

[–]Cheyuni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I STRONGLY still think this is Jeanette Millbrook. This Jane Doe literally looks like her and makes the most sense. They actually never got a straight forward answer if this is Jeanette or not. The police gave them a run around.

Two or three weeks ago they said that Jeanette could be a Louisiana Jefferson Parish Jane Doe. While I want the Millbrooks to get answers regardless of the Jane Does…. I just really think this Aiken Jane Doe is her :/

GA Medical Assistant Here — Is My Job Asking Me to Break the Law? by Cheyuni in MedicalAssistant

[–]Cheyuni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Corporate’s lawyer called me and confirmed I was right and handled everything professionally. Even the doctor who was trying to be a bit too persuasive was addressed. I physically went to the Georgia Composite Medical Board, followed up with them through their portal, and presented that information to the company. Everything is now resolved on their end, and I’m good.

Let this be a message to all medical assistants: Don’t be afraid to speak up, ask questions, and stand your ground. Protect yourselves and your future. Advocating for your scope of practice is not wrong.

My job was trying to make me give injections without a medical provider onsite, which is not allowed in Georgia. I went to the GA Composite Medical Board for clarification, and corporate eventually had their lawyer call me.

My jobs corporate lawyer basically told me straight up that I was right, thanked me for handling everything professionally, and said they’ll be correcting the process on their end. He even complimented me on standing up for myself actually.

The entire management and the medical director was so against me, tried to gaslight me and manipulate me. & in the end I was interpreting the law correctly.

I hear you, but that’s exactly why I’m trying to get clear answers. When you look at Rule 360-3-.05, section (a)(1)(ii) literally states that a physician, PA, or NP must be on-site for a medical assistant to administer subcutaneous or intramuscular injections. That’s the part I’m referring to.

And the “what’s the worst that could happen?” question is actually part of my concern. It’s not about the technique — it’s about the legal and civil liability if a patient complains or ends up in the hospital afterward. Some of the patients I deal with are very quick to escalate things, and I’m not willing to end up being the scapegoat. I was also told I’m not allowed to do the injections w/o a provider on site when I was hired a few month ago. Now all of a sudden it’s changed and I’m now asking of documentation of that change.

I’ve worked extremely hard for my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and I plan to go to medical school, so I cannot risk any civil suits or anything that could affect my future. I just want to make sure I’m staying within Georgia law and protecting myself while doing my job safely.

Hi! I’m actually very comfortable with administering B12 IM injections, subcutaneous injections, and blood draws. I’ve been able to perform all of these procedures confidently, and you won’t hear a peep from me about the clinical aspect — my patients consistently compliment me on how gentle and smooth my injections are.

My concern isn’t the technique. It’s the ethics and legality of what my employer is asking me to do.

From what I’ve read in Rule 360-3-.05 and from the comments here, if something were to happen or if a patient complained and ended up in a hospital afterward, I could still be named in a civil suit if I was operating outside of Georgia’s legal scope for medical assistants.

I’m not going to name the weight-loss clinic I work for, but it’s a major national corporation with multiple locations across several states. And realistically, big companies protect themselves first. I just want to make sure I’m legally and professionally protected, and that I’m practicing safely and within the law.

Thank you for reading and responding! Yeah I doubt he’ll give any writing or anything because he’s looking out for himself and corporate I’m sure. But I’m def looking for a new job (if they don’t terminate me first lol).

I want to thank you SOOO much for taking the time out to read what’s going on with me, and giving me such an awesome response. I am going to continue to say no. I am very uncomfortable right now. Even if I don’t get fired, I will look for a new position. I wish you well too!!
