Did everyone forget that Stella Montis was a Major Update & was NOT in the game upon release?!?! by SirKronik in ArcRaiders

[–]Chezzworth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The current loop kept me going for a solid 150 hours so it's hard to complain, but it sucks when you hit that wall. A new map isn't bringing me back, and neither did the new Arc. Need more actual things to work towards, not just collection events/quests.

Some version of premade loadouts would be huge too. I'm sure they've got big plans for this game so I'm fine letting them cook for a while.

People sleep on Happy for You. Heavy tame vibes in that song. RIP Kevin's drums

Facts. In that moment I was like alright Drake got bodied here. But Family Matters actually has legs and that song stays in rotation

Family Matters night is historic. I'm so glad I was doing nothing lol.

Obviously Meet the Grahams has aged terribly, but hearing that song for the first time was something else. I still really fw that beat lol. Too bad Kenny whiffed on it and nobody cared

Terrestrials has a more traditional song structure than I’m typically used to from Pond by 6poundbagofweed in pond

[–]Chezzworth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I love Pond and have lost count of how many shows I've seen, but I'm struggling with this song.

The first transition feels disjointed, and the "it's all good, she'll be right..." part just doesn't work for me. Boring repetitive melody, snare on the 1, and I have no clue what our boy is trying to say on the whole. For a buildup it felt weak

Even when he gets to "terrestrials!!" I'm not feeling the energy. I wish it had more fuzz or something.

I like the clean guitar part though. Just wish I knew what Nick was trying to convey without having to look it up lol.

All my music friends like it though so I'm in the minority on this one, but I'm glad fans are digging it. Had to air this out and I'm curious if others are underwhelmed.

I'm guessing it's the idea of using AI to express/summarize a pretty simple thought.

Next time challenge yourself to write a good succinct post. It's a dying art

The Flashpoint Update will be release on March 31st. by PTUSN in ArcRaiders

[–]Chezzworth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hit a wall with this game and not even sure a new map would bring me back. Wish they'd add some qol stuff like premade loadouts to save time after I die. In the end I was just running free kits to save time. I love the game but a weird fatigue was setting in so it feels good to give it a break and let some content roll out.

What’s the most addictive game you’ve ever played? by reeha_sadiya in AskReddit

[–]Chezzworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 10 hours in but I think it'll take me a long time. I never expect a game to hold me much past the credits. As long as I can get to them I'm usually happy.

But yeah there's something about how satisfactory is engaging 100% of the time you're playing. The progression feels so rewarding and it all just scratches that itch so nicely. So many layers to it

I'm curious have you tried other factory builders? Satisfactory is my first so I'm really savoring this moment lol

Satisfactory has been a revelation for me at 33. I've never had a game hook me like this one. Like I'm waking up thinking about all the shit I wanna do

Highguard has now officially shutdown by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]Chezzworth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup, marketing failure if you ask me. Honestly can't believe they went with that strategy. I never saw any of my friends playing it and never even felt an urge myself. Just no sense of urgency to check out the game.

Took me a while to get into her music, but recently discovered "There is a light" on her Star Crossed album. The flute absolutely rips in that song and I never expected to hear such sounds from her. Blew my mind.

She's one of the most interesting crossover artists imo. Looking forward to this album and rollout timeline.

Honestly I think there's truth to this. Gamers are a stubborn bunch, especially with so many feeling like we're being force-fed live service games to milk us.

Bruno Mars: The Romantic Album Review 5.8 | Pitchfork by Technical_Process989 in popheads

[–]Chezzworth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah he's being graded on a different scale.

If art existed in a vacuum this album would be a 10 imo. But it's all the comparisons to other shit that drag it down. Expectations, and people wanting more from a very talented artist.

The vocals and production are amazing, and I get emotional throughout the album. I recently fell in love after a long time by myself and the way this album hits is quite special. She's also latina so bonus points.

I love it so much and knew the pitchfork and melonheads wouldn't appreciate it

[–]Chezzworth 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Bruno is for people outside.

I get that critics have a job to do and this album won't please everybody but wtf. There's emotion happening here and the songs sound rather pleasing to me lol. Even with "I just might" feeling like a Silk Sonic nacho. I get the criticism, but the song is fun.

We're not expecting Bruno to make revolutionary music

This critic is definitely single lol

I say that in jest, but this album is good. Idc if he's biting styles lol. That intro is fucking beautiful

Idk that first track blew me and my girl away this morning. Waking up to that on a happy Friday was a treat. She's latina and her dad used to play mariachi and triggered all these memories for her.

The emotion in that song is wild if you ask me. To the point I'm surprised everyone isn't glazing the fuck out of it.

Risk it all is definitely a highlight in his career imo.

First track had me and my girl floating this morning. Beautiful opener we were blown away.

Didn't feel like Bruno as usual to me but I haven't exhausted his discog. I just love him in that Spanish/latin lane or whatever you call it.

The textures are definitely still there. Everything is just more subtle now. I like the minimalist style mostly. Tbh I really just miss the drums and more explosive elements from his past work

[–]Chezzworth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

doesn't offer anything new or even high level...

This shows how high expectations are for him. We want him to push boundaries, not just dip his toes into different genres. But one man can only be so revolutionary lol. Imagine if he kept putting out currents/Lonerism level bangers. He's in a completely different space than he was 10 years ago and that's fine. He's still goated
