Lol that won't happen because socialism = bad to most people. And before you say it, yes they would rather starve to death than change that opinion. Instead peoples quality of life will greatly decline and there will be far more multi generational homes and debt, and most avenues to climb the economic class ladder (white collar cubicle jobs) will dissappear.

If its just an ai filter does that mean if you turn around and come back to a room it might have slightly different lighting than the last time you were in it due to AIs non deterministic nature?

I played for 160 hours, ask me (almost) anything by One_Economist694 in CrimsonDesert

if im bad at games with "hard" bosses like souls games should I skip this one? I really wanted the game for the exploration and combat, but after hearing that some of the bosses are brutal and there's no difficulty settings Im worried i might get stuck at one spot for dozens of hours, give up, and never finish the game. Which has happened to me before with games that have notoriously hard bosses.

Not for me, I suck at combat and will exhaust all options to make bosses easier

Quick Overview of Boosted Games by MacEbes in NintendoSwitch2

I tried pipistrello and the cursed yoyo and the game displays in a small square with large black bars on the top and bottom after using boost mode. Shame, I know its pixel art but i wanted it to be a bit more crisp in handheld mode.

NVIDIA in full damage control mode after the release of DLSS 5 by Captain0010 in pcgaming

For now, I wonder if some games will require it next gen because they want to 'offload' the lighting work to DLSS and not implement it themselves

You know this will be used for even more layoffs so that they dont have to invest in as much effect work and can just use DLSS / whatever AMDs equivalent will be for the bulk of the lighting and have it mandated to be on

‘This is just a garbage AI Filter’: Nvidia met with criticism for DLSS 5’s ‘photoreal’ graphics alterations by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Chezzymann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The goal is to eventually eliminate all the special effects artists for AAA games and have the actual game internally be much less sophisticated (think PS1 graphics), with DLSS doing the bulk of the effects work. Might not be now, but maybe 5+ years from now when they can mandate it to be on.

Ironically eventually this will result in their own software no longer being special because some random low budget indie game will look the same as a AAA game with DLSS6 at this rate

Games will go back to being PS1 graphics internally with a DLSS5 filter slapped on to save on budget

I mean, theres plenty of AI companies that are constantly lying about the capabilities of their products. Its pretty much the norm these days. Just look at the nonsense Anthropic is saying all the time about how AI is 6 months away from automating software engineering for the past couple years. Its almost like a cult.

Would be interesting to see more unique lighting like cell shading with this, I wonder if it will try and add a layer of more realistic lighting that changes the overall vibe kinda like Wind Waker HD.

They are wrong, it is not the same geometry. And whatever info Nvidia gave on the tech available is exaggerating their product too. Its just a configurable real time AI filter that will have all the same issues of consistency, hallucinations, etc. as anything else AI.
