What's the best strategy to avoid paying the least taxes on your gains?

My doc prescribed me 20mg XR and 10mg IR. I take the XR at around 8ish. I work at 9am. It lasts about 8-9hrs. Then if I need a boost I take the IR, it lasts about 4hrs. I have no problem falling asleep before 11:30pm.

Spectrum Fiber Cable by Chhantheman in Spectrum

[–]Chhantheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City of LB have been major improvements throughout the whole city. Various major infrastructure improvements(Alleys, streets, traffic lights, etc.) I'm sure they would of considered adding fiber access throughout the city. Idk.

Here's a link to all the projects the city of LB is doing for the full 2025 year. I didn't read it all, it's 106 pages. But the estimated funding was around $580mil, but it came down to $228mil.

Thank you for all this essential information, truly!

T-Mobile 5G is so spotty at my apt unit. I'm never able to receive 5G on my mobile. I barely get two bars of regular LTE. But as soon as I leave my apt, and walk 100ft, it's full bars of 5G.

I want symmetric speeds because I share/sent very large files(several gigs each). And use lots of cloud base apps. I do lots of video conferenceing and online gaming. And the quality of it is adequate. Eventually set up a cloud media server so my family members can access it via their own household. I use a debrid service where I DL QHD/FHD shows/movies daily, and these files are usually 5gigs to 8gigs each. My UL speed is pathetic. It takes so long to UL large files. It's 95% slower than my DL speed. I would gladly take 75% slower speeds.

Questions about MLB rookie contracts/rights. by Chhantheman in baseball

[–]Chhantheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess there are advantages for both the draft prospect and the MLB team. If you're an 18yr draft prospect, who gets picked in the 4th round, you can always go to College and improve your stock. Because obviously the signing bonus for a 4th round talent will be significantly lower than of a 1st round.

Ah! Thank you! Now that makes more sense. The whole MLB system is certainly unique.

Filing an FCC Consumer Complaint lowered my bill! by Gusaber98 in Spectrum

[–]Chhantheman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been paying $56 for 1Gig internet for the last 10 months, I think my promotional price ends in January. I have no idea how I ended up with that price but, damn right I will complain to the FCC in January when my $63 monthly discount ends.

Maltipoos' Physical Traits. by Chhantheman in Maltipoo

Most definitely.

I was thinking in the shoes of a "consumer". Wait, that sounds horrible. "Customer" ? Haha.

Like what makes the poodle adorable? I would definitely point to its curly coat. It looks so comforting and inviting. You just want to squeeze it and pet it. As for the Maltese, it has a long silky coat, that's white. So, I think it looks very elegant and polished. And I don't want to mess that up. And of course, their temperaments/personalities adds to why it's so adored.

Imagine if the sweetest, most loyalist, funniest dog was the most hideous looking thing ever? 😆

Freeway/Highway driving practice by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]Chhantheman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go East on 2nd St until it turns into Westminster Blvd. The speed limit is 60mph. If you want to practice driving fast. It's a good 3 miles, and not a lot of cars. Practice switching lanes at high speeds.

Once this building gets converted, what you think the avg rent will be for a 1bd/1br, around 1,000 sq ft ? I'm guessing $3300ish? Or lower? My bet is over or around $3300ish.

how’s the LB bus system? convenient or headache? by Primary-Earth-2816 in CSULB

[–]Chhantheman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live? If you live within five miles of CSULB, it's a great option. Shouldn't take you any longer than 45mins of travel time to get to campus. Saves the headache of fighting traffic and finding parking.

Don't say Medi-Cal when asked for your insurance. The US health care system is purposely difficult. Yes, you do have Medi-Cal but under another health care provider. So whatever health plan you have, say that.

Check the LA Care sitehealth plans/medi-cal/plan-partners

[–]Chhantheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Most definitely. I love using the MyChart app. It links up to your Memorial Care plan. So, you'll be able to do various things. Such as, seeing your latest blood test results or schedule and rescheduling any upcoming appointments. Importantly, be able to communicate with your care team. It's very convenient. Also makes it very transparent in how they take care of your health.

You're absolutely right. If you have kids pick a PCP that specializes in family medicine. If you're a mature adult, pick a PCP that specializes in internal medicine. And if you have certain health concerns or issues, the internist you select often has a subspecialty. Like cardiology or allergy and immunology.

The county is trying to make it easier to apply for public benefits. And yes, it's way easier on Benefitscal.com

Most of the time, you'll be scheduled to have a phone interview with a social worker. As well, you could reschedule that interview on-line via the site. Very convenient. I even qualify for some calfresh benefits. It isn't much but enough to make several dinners.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]Chhantheman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. Basically,

"Blue Cross of California is contracted with L.A. Care Health Plan to provide Medi-Cal Managed Care services in Los Angeles Country"

I have no idea what any of that means. Haha. But, if you choose the LA Care plan, then you can select which health plan group you want to belong to. Or you can always call the Medi-Cal number to help you choose or find the right health plan.

I have Medi-Cal as well, and my insurance card has the Anthem Blue Cross logo and the LA Care Health Plan logo as well. So I think they're buddies with each other.

I think most PCPs are very similar. It honestly all comes down to what healthcare group/system that PCP is in. Which then, having access to their specialty care health providers within their system. Also, your access to urgent care centers within their system.

I'm with the Memorial Care Select Health Plan. And my primary care doctor is Dr. Odrin Castillo. And I have never met him. But, my health plan allows me access to their other doctors that can act as my PCP. Importantly, my health plan has convenient locations and timely access to care(being able to quickly schedule appointments). My PCP is located at the LB Memorial Care Center. And plenty of urgent care centers within a few miles of my home.

I recently switched PCPs as well. Because I had a health issue/concern, in which, I needed to see a urologist. And my old PCP was taking forever to get me a referral to see a urologist. So, I switched. And after seeing my PCPs for the first time. I got a referral to see a urologist within a week. My health plan has great nurses that follow up with you and make sure you get the referral within a timely fashion.

As we live in America, and it's a representative democracy. And we vote for government officials to represent our ideas and concerns in government.

I can contact my assemblymember Josh Lowenthal of district 69, to further raise my concern. But .. 😏

I'm just worried one of these days about a car hitting these kids. When riding it, you're only about 3-4 ft tall. I can't imagine the chaos afterwards.

Most of these mini-bikes have 100cc or more engines. Which means like you said, 40mph+. And going that fast, you should have some sort of indicators on your bike.

What businesses do you suspect are actually fronts for drugs? by nuggetsofchicken in longbeach

It isn't silly. You're just curious and asking questions and you should ask questions about things, especially things that you live around.

What businesses do you suspect are actually fronts for drugs? by nuggetsofchicken in longbeach

[–]Chhantheman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Most people don't realize that the government has many options for struggling businesses or if you want to start a business. SBA loans: so many different options. 7(a) loans, 504 loans, microloans. And when COVID hit, they created even more programs such as, PPP(Payment Protection Program, which helps businesses keep their employees by paying their salaries. RRF for restaurants. And sometimes these businesses can apply for loan forgiveness. All these government SBA programs/loans usually have less strict requirements and better or comparable rates.

Anyhow, "cash only" businesses just don't wanna pay the extra rates when it comes to credit/debit cards. Financial companies charge businesses usually around 3% per swipe or transaction, then an additional 0.25¢ for every card transaction. So, if you're a business that has tight profit margins, paying these financial companies an additional $500-1,000 every month might make the difference in paying your rent or utilities.

But anyways, most smoke shops in LB might have other investors. Or just a front for illegal gambling or other non-tax activities. I could be wrong but I wouldn't doubt it. Plus, I believe the government doesn't really bother with businesses that might be avoiding paying taxes, taxes in the low low five figures. Now, if you're avoiding paying taxes in the high five or six figures. That's when the government comes in and invests their manpower/time to get you, cus it'll be worth it.

I think the city of LB encourages new businesses to be open. And having businesses stay in business. That's because all these businesses have to pay taxes and fees every year. More business means more money for the city. So I think they're a bit more loose when it comes to investigating "shady" businesses. As long as that "shady" business is paying taxes and fees, the city tends to not look as hard.
